My Teaching Philosophy
I believe that knowledge is cumulative; therefore, as a teacher, I must be well-informed,
inquisitive, and cultured. However, our era differs from previous ones, and the role of the teacher
has evolved. The teacher is no longer merely a bearer of knowledge but has become a guide and
facilitator of the educational process. Consequently, my role is not limited to providing students
with information; rather, it extends to making the student the central focus of the learning process.
I aim to be a mentor, guide, and facilitator, leading students toward the educational goals and
aspirations set by the university and the Ministry of Higher Education.
I am committed to using modern teaching strategies and educational technologies. Activities are
also an integral part of the curriculum and must be given due attention. Research plays a significant
and growing role in enhancing the quality and performance of the educational process, and it must
be prioritized.
Teaching Arabic to non-native speakers is an art that is refined through study and experience. I
have extensive experience in teaching Arabic as a second and foreign language—six years in
Sudan, nineteen years in Malaysia, and also at the University of Bahrain. My role has gone beyond
language instruction to include designing textbooks for non-native speakers, such as my book
Arabic for Scientific Purposes at the Faculty of Medicine and contributing to the development of
other textbooks like Key to the Sciences and others.
I am actively involved in research, having authored six books and co-authored three others, most
of which are internationally recognized. I have published numerous scholarly papers in peer-
reviewed journals. I have also supervised a master's student in Malaysia and served as an external
examiner for a master's thesis in e-learning at Al-Madinah International University, Faculty of
Education, in Shah Alam, Malaysia.
Between February 2015 and July 2017, I supervised forty-two female students in practical
education for fourth and second-year Arabic language majors under the semester system.
Additionally, I supervised seven trainees and three studies in the Educational Leadership Diploma
at the Bahrain Teachers College, University of Bahrain, from December 2015 to June 2017.
