Characteristics of a Pneumonic Patch 1. Dullness to percussion: The area is less resonant than surrounding lung tissue. 2. Bronchial breath sounds: Sounds are louder, harsher, and more high-pitched than normal vesicular breath sounds. 3. Increased vocal resonance: Voice sounds are more clear and louder than usual. 4. Crackles : May be present, especially during inspiration. 5. Decreased or absent breath sounds: In severe cases, breath sounds may be absent or significantly diminished.
