Some people believe that robots are important to humans’ future
development, while others think that they are a dangerous invention
that will impact society negatively. Discuss both views and give your
own opinion.
Outline
- Advantageous
P: Robots do repetitive tasks
Ex:
+ Robots only use battery => need no food/rest
+ Work 24/7, handle house chores/ heavy labor
Eg:
+ Robots: do housework + lift heavy items
+ In China: robots classify medicine in hospitals (efficiency: 1 robot
= 5 humans)
L:
+ Humans save time => focus on studying, innovation => better
future
- Negative
P: Job loss → rising unemployment rate/ social issues
Ex:
+ Many jobs are doned by robots
Eg:

+ China: thousands of robots used => rising unemployment rate
=> People turn to cybercrimes, hoax calls
L:
+ Natural selection: people who unable to keep up: eliminated (even
without robots)
+ Inventions made for the sake of human beings
=> Misuse = human fault
=> Gov must handle robot use strictly
It is widely believed that robots play an important role in the
development of humans’ future, although the other argue that it exert a
negative effect on society. Personally I strongly believe that robots bring
more benefits than the disadvantages.
Firstly, robots can replace humans with repetitive or daunting tasks
effectively and accurately. Unlike humans, robots virtually need no food,
rests and other issues. By using battery, it can work 24/7 and solve from
almost any household jobs to heavy labor work. For example, various
robot housewives has been produced in many parts of the world each
year in order to solve household chores. It cannot be denied that since
robots were invented, human could devote more time to their research or
other study about future to better the world.
Despite those benefits of robots for humans’ life, some people think that
it can adversely affect our society by increase unemployment rate or
other social issues. It is simply because many works demand less skill or
knowledge now can be carried out by robots, leading to difficulty in
finding jobs. For instance, China has applied thousands of robots to
workplace, causing the rise of unemployed individuals figure. Since that

situation, cybercimes has become relatively prevalent, like making hoax
calls or deceive elders. However, I strongly believe that this problem is
practically a natural selection. Only the hard-working, strong or
powerful individuals can keep up with the development of society.
Those who misuse or rely too much on the robots and other technology
will probably fall behide even without robots. Every inventions are
originally made for the sake of human beings. The problems only start
when humans intentionally misappropriate it. Moreover, government
also should handle the use of robots so as to take advantage of
technology correctly and efficiently.
In conclusion, although robots advantageously affect humans’ future, it
still has certain potential risks. However, the detrimental impacts only
start from humans’ awareness of their behavior.
