WHAT IS
IKIGAI

Ikigai is a Japanese concept
that does not have a literal translation,
but can be defined as
"the reason for living" or
"the reason for being"

Everyone, according to
Japanese culture, has an
ikigai.

The best thing about ikigai is that it serves as a compass
to make decisions in life.
Your ikigai encapsulates the concept of purpose,
so when you know those areas and line
them up with each other,
you are very clear about your focus
and where you have to go.

HOW TO
APPLY THE
IKIGAI
METHOD
Draw four empty circles and assign a different color to each one.
In the first circle you are going to write everything you love to do, what you like and
what you enjoy. For example: reading, painting, singing, etc.
In the second circle write everything you are good at doing, what you are good at. For
example, cooking, writing, organizing.
For the third, think of all those valuable skills and knowledge that others would be
willing to pay you for. For example, for your formal studies in a specialty.
In the fourth, describe everything you would be capable of for others or for the planet,
even if you were not paid for it. For example, rescuing animals from the street,
reforesting a green space or taking care of children. Remember that this must be
something you would do of your own free will and against all odds.
Join the circles according to the graph you saw earlier and gradually discover your
passion, mission, vocation and profession.
Once you have deciphered these four aspects of your life, ask yourself if for each one
what you wrote down matches what you are doing at this precise moment in your life.
If not, then you know what you have to do now: start changing it.
When you balance the four pillars of your life, you will have found your ikigai, you will
feel more motivated every day and even happier.
