3. ABSTRACT: A scientific study on importance of seismology consisting of definition of seismology and types of seismic waves are discussed. The objective of this is to understand seismological investigation. Determination of Earth faults and exploration of petroleum utilities. Has vast importance in mineral exploration. Useful for determine the magnitude and intensity of Earthquake.

4. INTRODUCTION: Seismology : Seismology is the scientific study of earthquakes and the propagation of elastic waves through the Earth or other planetary bodies. Seismic Waves : Seismic waves are caused by the sudden movement of materials within the Earth, such as slip along a fault during an earthquake.

7. METHODOLOGY: Terraloc MK-6 apparatus is used along with geophones, to determine The velocities of waves through different layers Real time noise monitoring Frequency spectrum analysis

8. METHODOLOGY: Geophones: Geophones detects ground velocity and and transforms it into electrical impulses For shallow survey, we use 12, 24, 36 geophones. For deep surveys, we use thousands of geophones.
