Development of short film ideas
1) The Protagonist is locked in an escape room. She finds herself in a room where she has to complete mind blowing puzzles and physical strength related tasks, she is watched by antagonist. The antagonist had a miserable childhood where he lost his parents, now he is 35; he has nothing. He is of an idea that he has to punish people due to their happy life and outstanding professions which he couldn’t get. The only problem is that she isn’t alone. There are other victims captured for the same reason. The escape room is located in a kind of a warehouse made of different rooms, each with different tasks in order to escape, but no one knows if in the end you can actually escape.
2) After partying whole night in a club with his friends, a drunk guy wakes up in a room with which he is unfamiliar. He has no idea how he got there, or why. The only thing he knows is that he has to get out. As he starts to get conscious he realizes that he is in an escape room, all alone by himself, with only a voice in his head. The unknown voice is coming from a Speaker which is telling him riddles/instructions of what he has to do. The only way of succeeding is by following the orders and try to escape the locked escape room.
3) A guy wakes up in a room which is completely unknown to him. He is an amateur basketball player who loves to hoop. He starts to look around the room, when he finds and exit and leaves. He finds himself in another room with little space and a basketball hoop. As he gets closer to the basketball a guy appears with a mask on his face to challenge this basketball player. He soon realizes that he has to face him and beat him in order to escape. The only problem is that he is claustrophobic, he gets depressed in small spaces and to focus in such a place and to win an unknown guy can get really tough.
4) Few friends wonder around the city searching for fun. They find a place which looks to be interesting to them. In the house they realize that there is an old escape room which isn’t in use anymore. They decide to renovate it and try it out. 4 friends push the youngest one in the escape room and lock him. They agree on giving him instructions via phone, through calls and messages on how to find the way out by doing mind gazing tasks.
Two basketball players are arriving at the basketball court. As they start changing and preparing for the game they are opposite each other and on the first instance it looks as if they are ignoring or not registering one another. As the time passes by they start exchanging glances as if they are communicating. During that time we see flashback of what has happened between them the night before the crucial game. (One of the players has witnessed the other player betting against his own team.)
Two rival basketball players are in the changing room, getting ready for the game. They are talking to their teammates about their latest conquest and the girl they have been with. Before they are ready to start the game, on the way out of the changing room, they see a girl, both of them start rushing towards her to address her with different names.
Two best friends playing for the same basketball team. The night before the crucial game, each of them receives a text message which will force one of them to win and the other one to lose the game. During the game we see the determination of each one of them fighting at their best ability to win or lose.
5) 2 groups of friends decide to go to the haunted house escape room adventure to show each other that by working together, anything is possible. Both groups have people who do not fancy one another from the other group. The Game master makes the Triplets in order to start the game. However he manages to put a group of triplets where all of them hate and have problems with each other. The other 3 groups have successfully completed the adventure game but this last group got stuck due to their bad teamwork. In order to finish and get out from the escape room they have to start working together or who knows what’s going to happen while being locked in such a room.
Final Idea 1 Escape Room
After partying whole night in a club with his friends, a drunk guy wakes up in a room with which he is unfamiliar.
Based on my experience and knowledge, looking at my script, I have decided to change my topic, as there were problems with the location and settings, and also character choices.
Final Idea 2 Battle of the Sexes
An average sporty teenage couple who are into basketball during everyday conversation end up arguing with each other about who is a better player, so they end up playing each other. As the game progresses they realize there is more crack in their relationship than they originally thought. Nobody wins but they break up. As the game becomes more heated the exchange becomes more intense, instead of one of them winning they break up.
Based on my script, I couldn’t find a proper female character who could have played the role of my female protagonist therefore I have abandoned this idea.
Final Idea 3 Accident
Girl and boy playing for same club, each are talking about who they met online, but each have a fake profile, they are actually texting each other and by accident, they bump into each other and both of them drop their phones and each of the takes their other phone and see their messages.
Final Idea This story is a modern representation of Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmond Rostand
They go to the same Basketball club, texting each other constantly, while being on fake account. After few flirting sessions, they set up a blind date, however as they are not self-confident, they send a substitute instead. As the substitutes meet up they realize they know each other and end up getting together, while the other two are …
