Revising Internet Coordination Policy2 (ICP-2)
•ICP-2 was developed 25 years ago
•Set the criteria for recognizing new Regional Internet Registries (RIRs), such as LACNIC and AFRINIC
•Revision of ICP-2 by ICANN ASO AC and NRO NC
–Internet landscape is evolving
–Necessary to better reflect the current Internet environment
•Revisions focus on:
–Expanding governance, ecosystem, and operational criteria
–Clarifying the lifecycle of RIR recognition and responsibilities
–Defining principles for potential derecognition if obligations are not met
