Introduction
5
Businesses today work smarter rather than harder, thanks to the increasing use of
connected devices and data. The Internet of Things and Big Data are not only being
adopted to boost efficiency, but also to introduce innovative business practices that
deliver sustained growth. The IoT allows different devices to communicate and generate
data in real-time while Big Data makes it possible for businesses to analyze huge sets of
data for useful information. They enable companies to shift from traditional structures
into more decentralized, agile, and customer-driven organizations.

Enterprise Architecture Transformation
❑Enterprise Architecture Transformation refers to the strategic evolution of an organization’s architecture to
improve flexibility, adaptability, and responsiveness in a dynamic digital environment. This transformation is driven
primarily by the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) and Big Data (BD). IoT enables real-time data collection
from a wide array of connected devices, machines, and systems across the enterprise, creating a rich foundation of
operational data. BD processes and analyzes this vast and diverse data to generate timely insights, support predictive
decision-making, and optimize system performance. Together, IoT and BD shift enterprise architecture from rigid,
hierarchical structures to more agile, data-driven frameworks that can adapt quickly to change, enhance
collaboration, and drive innovation across digital manufacturing systems [1].
