Subject: oh, nothing much
great to arrive home after a hard day in the
library and find a breath of canada waiting for
me. :) hey, a real live letter, on *paper* and
all!
you might be getting out warm clothes and seeing
the trees starting to get that threadbare look,
but it goes the other way round here. summer’s
started early here, and with a vengeance: it even
hit 33 a couple of days ago. and in october! the
air conditioning in the library broke down the
other day, leaving me sweltering over a stack of
company reports. i would have taken them out and
sat down under a tree with them all if they’d
have let me get them out the door, but no such
luck: I sometimes i think the thing i envy you
most at the moment is the cool weather. (*and*
that you might even get some skiing in before
you come back!)
so how does it feel now that you’ve not only
finished and submitted all the work, but have
also had a couple of weeks totally free? enjoy
it--you’ve certainty deserved it! and *don’t*,
whatever you do, worry about whether it’ll get
through or not. the bit of the thesis you sent
back to me looked traffic to me. i don’t know
what canadian examiners are looking for, but i’m
sure they recognise quality when they see it.
relax, enjoy all the things you’ve been too busy
to enjoy until now. well, not *too* much;) spare
the occasional thought for me slogging on here at
home. i’m almost finished here, too: two more
