Communication Skill The word “ Communicate” which comes from the Latin word “Communicare” meaning to make common talk usually to mean speaking or writing or sending a message to another person. Communication is really much more than that it involve ensuring that your message has reached that target audience and that the receiver understand and responds as you want to them to.

Definition o f Communication Communication is a process of passing information and understanding from one person to another. Communication may be broadly defined as the process of meaningful interaction and understanding are reached among human being.

Importance of Communication Communication is vital life skill developing your communication skill can benefits you in all aspects of your life from your professional social gathering in business communication effectively with client and colleagues is one of the most essential skill. Communication skill are needed to speak appropriately with a variety of people maintaining good eye contact demonstrate a various vocabulary and your language to your audience listen effectively present your ideas appropriately write clearly and concisely work well in group.

Importance of Communication Many of us only use presentation skill infrequently. However there will probably be times in your life when you need to present information to a group of people either in a formal or informal. Communication skill can be also ensure that you are able to manage interaction with business and organization. Good communication require excellent communication skill. Without communication an organization cannot all function at all .

Characteristics of Communication Communication takes place when one person transfer some understandable data to another person. It also include the exchange of thoughts opinion, facts and information between two or more persons. Feedback is very important as it assures that your message should be properly conveyed to the receiver. Try to simplify your thoughts before communicating your message. Be sure your action support your communication.

There are four characteristics of communication 1.Communication is Unintentional as well Intentional 2.Communication is a Dynamic Process 3.Communication is Systemic 4.Communication is both interaction and transaction

Communication is Unintentional as well Intentional We do not always succeed in conveying exactly what we want to the target receiver may receive less or more or even something other than what we intended to convey. In fact communication does not happen exactly as a sender wishes it often fails. Communication takes place even when we do not plan it and when we are not conscious of it. We may communicate something that we have not intended to communicate. Our non verbal behaviour which is always present conveys some things about us.

Communication is a Dynamic Process A process is an ongoing activity. Communication is a process and is always changing. Always is motion is grows and develops. Even if the some two person exchange the some idea again the communication will not be exactly the same as it was the first time.

Communication is Systemic Every component of a process is affected by every other components. The source, the environment, the goal, the medium, the nature, of the message, the receiver, the feedback, all affected one another if the audience is inattentive or uninterested the source is not able to communicate effectively. If the sender’s goal is not clear the message will be confused.

Communication is both interaction and transaction The two participants the source and the receiver, exchange ideas and information and influence each other during the process of communication . They are also come to shared and common meaning as a result of the communication. They shared thoughts and meanings.
