Involute Gear Profile
1-In Involute Gear profile pressure angle remain same.
2-Tooth of Involute profile are weaker.
3-Due to convex surface Involute Gear are easy to manufacture.
4-As center distance change so velocity of Involute gear is not affected.
5-In Involute profile Gear interference takes place.
6-Greater wear & tear take place between convex surfaces.

Cycloidal Gear Profile
1-In Cycloidal Gear profile pressure angle not remain same. Pressure
angle is zero at pitch point.
2-The tooth of cycloidal gear are stronger as compared to involute
profile gear.
3-The manufacturing of cycloidal gear are difficult.
4-The center distance did not change in cycloidal gear.
5-No interference take place in cycloidal gear.
6- Wear and tear are less in cycloidal gear profile.
