Smart Spaces Applications

Smart Spaces Safety: Self learning ability and daily monitoring by smart spaces enable them to provide assistance to elderly & differently abled individuals, who usually require assistance Energy efficiency: Saving energy by varying the illumination levels of lights based on time, weather etc. Smart Airports by tapping and tracking foot movement information for assessing the traffic and queue congestion in order to provide seamless movement for passengers, luggage etc. Security : Detecting intrusions in sensitive areas and prevent any mis happenings User Experience: Retailers can use their resources accordingly for faster billing and reducing wait time by utilizing customer rush information analysis by smart spaces

Managerial Implications Managers and employees spend less time doing non-value added jobs Easier communication between departments and functions New business opportunities in fields like speech and image recognition Parallel processing Shift towards cross functional work teams Pay for performance and competency based pay Trend analysis and sophisticated business forecasting techniques may assume primacy in business research and planning

Social, Economic and Environmental Implications Growing dependence on technology Isolation and loneliness Security issues Creation of a knowledge dependent global society Accelerated economic growth Reduction in demand for blue-collar workers Rising inequality Generation of e-waste Opportunities for developing environmentally sustainable business methods

DATA ANALYSIS

SETUP OF SMART OFFICE Internet-connected electronic boards equipped by smart sensors and actuators that interact with the office environment Sensors and actuators monitor and control the parameters like temperature, pressure, humidity The setup consists of 150 work stations having Personal Computers ,air conditioners and lights Monitored over a period of two months Communication between Devices

Case Study - Smart City Mission

Findings Smart space in workspace has reduced the integration and communication gap between functions and departments Helped in designing better forecasting and timeliness of job Smarter and efficient environment in fields of healthcare, aviation, sports, media etc Meanwhile there are also negative impact of smart space affecting both health, privacy and economic condition of people. Smart office with smart technologies ( IT dependent environment) yields high levels of savings and also adjusted the conditions in accordance with the environment Smart classroom and smart cities are some examples of environment implementing the smart space technology for better learning and living.

Conclusion This project of work focuses on to understand the various application and implications of the smart space technology on various fields. Paper also focuses on understanding the smart space contribution on integrating the physical world and the digital world thereby improving the quality of the user's personal experience while providing individuals with smart living applications at the same time also briefs the negative gravity of the smart space technology and also aims at providing some good reasoning to deal with such issues and problems of pollutions, health, economic conditions etc
