3. COMPANY PROFILE Aarti Steels Ltd. a part of the Aarti Group (est. 1979), is an integrated steel producer with plants in Ludhiana and Cuttack. With a turnover of approx. ₹2,500 crore, it manufactures sponge iron, ferro alloys, carbon & alloy steels, and high‑carbon steel wires for automotive, railways, and infrastructure sectors.

8. A bar screen chamber is the first stage in the surface runoff treatment system. Its main function is to remove large solid waste materials from the water before it enters further stages of treatment . Key Functions: Screening of Debris: Protects Downstream Equipment: Improves Flow Conditions: 7. BAR SCREEN CHAMBER

An Oil & Grease Chamber (also called an Oil-Water Separator) is designed to remove oils, greases, and other floating hydrocarbons from surface runoff before the water is discharged or sent to further treatment units. Key Functions: Separation of Oil & Grease: Protects the Environment: Prevents Clogging & Corrosion: 8. O & G CHAMBER

10. 3. EQUALIZATION TANK 6. FLASH MIXING TANK An equalization tank is used to collect and balance the incoming surface runoff before it enters the main treatment units. It helps in maintaining a consistent flow rate and pollutant load, which improves the efficiency of downstream processes. The flash mixing tank in an industrial surface runoff treatment system is used to quickly and evenly mix chemicals (like coagulants) with the incoming water. This helps to start the process of removing suspended particles and impurities from the runoff.

11. CONSTRUCTION PROCESS :- Numerous vertical steel reinforcement bars fixed in place ,forming the reinforcement cage for the chamber walls. 1 st stage of construction was excavation of soil. Next we do PCC work after it completion we do raft foundation .

12. The side of the chamber are enclosed with steel shuttering panels to support with lateral pressure of concrete during casting. We can use 600mm x 1200mm steel shuttering. We use 16 mm Dia. HYSD bar Fe 500 rod for the vertical wall &beam. (Ordinary Portland cement ) 43 grade of JK Laxmi cement is used for construction.

13. 5.AIR BLOWER FOUNDATION 7.CLARIFIER In a surface runoff treatment system, an air blower is used to send air into the water to help clean it (especially in tanks where bacteria break down waste).The air blower foundation is the strong base on which the blower is fixed A clarifier is a big tank used to clean the water by removing heavy particles . Slows down the water – so the solids can settle. Heavy solids (like sand, dirt) sink to the bottom . Oils and light stuff float to the top. The cleaner water in the middle is sent to the next step.

14. PREPARATION FOR GRADE SLAB OF CLARIFIER STRUCTURE FOUNDATION LAYOUT OF CLARIFIER STRUCTURE

15. For slab and wall binder reinforcement we used 12mm dia bar. The center column is called as center shaft or outlet pipe

16. We use MS Plate for the circular Shuttering purposes.

17. The upper most part is called launder wall.

18. J 8.FILTER FEED TANK Temporary Storage It holds the clarified water (after settling in the clarifier) before it goes to filters. This ensures a steady flow into the filters & helps control the rate of water going into the filters. This protects the filters from sudden surges or overloading. 10.TREATED WATER TANK A Treated Water Tank is a storage tank that collects and holds the clean water after all treatment processes are complete. Key Benefits:- Stores clean water Ready for reuse and disposal

19. 9.MULTI GRADE FILTER Role of MGF (Multi grade Filter): Removes suspended solids: MGF helps in removing fine particles, turbidity, and silt from the runoff water after basic treatment stages. Improves water clarity : It makes the water clearer by trapping dust, dirt, and other visible impurities. Protects downstream systems : By removing solids, MGF protects equipment like activated carbon filters (ACF), membranes, pumps, etc., from clogging or fouling.

20. 12.MCC ROOM MCC stands for Motor Control Center . The MCC Room is a central electrical control room in the surface runoff treatment system of an industry Ensures all equipment runs smoothly and safely. Operates pumps, mixersand other motors used in the treatment system. 13.TRANSFORMER BASE A transformer base refers to the foundation or support structure on which a power transformer is installed. It plays a crucial role in the electrical infrastructure of the surface runoff water treatment system.

21. CONCLUSION :- Over the past month at Aarti Steels Ltd. In Project( CIVIL ) Department , I have gained invaluable insights and practical experience that have significantly enriched both my academic knowledge and professional growth. During my time here, I actively participated in diverse tasks— like I have learnt the basics of bills of quantity, estimation, site inspection, dealing with different vendors, drawings study.
