LABORATORY

RULES OF CONDUCT IN MICRO LAB Each student required to wear laboratory gown, coat, or smock gown while working in the laboratory

2. Students are advised not to wear jewelry while working in the laboratory.

3. Eating inside the laboratory is absolutely forbidden.

4 . All accidents such as burns, abrasions, cuts, as well as spillages of cultures and breakage or loss of equipment should be reported immediately

5. All non- infectious solid wastes such as paper, cotton, matchsticks, should be placed in trashcan. These are not to be discarded on tabletops, sinks, or on the floor. Laboratory should be kept clean at all times.

6. All laboratory equipment used should be cleaned with a disinfectant solution before returning them to the laboratory technician

8. Cultures should not be left on table tops nor thrown in the sinks. They should be returned immediately to the technician for proper disposal.

9. Loitering, making unnecessary noise, and borrowing equipment from other groups are not allowed.

10. At the end of the laboratory period, all equipment and apparatus used must be returned to the technician. All working areas must be thoroughly cleaned with disinfectant. Hands must be thoroughly washed with soap and water.

MICROSCOPE Is an optical instrument that can magnify organisms a hundredfold or even a thousandfold .

Compound Light Microscope Is a type of microscope that contains more than one magnifying lens. It can magnify objects approximately a thousand times their original size. Visible light is the main source of illumination
