ACTIVITY TIME

EVAPORATION

CONCEPT FORMATION Developing the Science Ideas Learned What is EVAPORATION?

EVAPORATION I s the process of changing liquid to gas/ vapor . In evaporation , heat is needed to separate liquid into gas. Gas / vapor is produced when water is heated. Water vapor goes up the atmosphere to form clouds.

Try to test yourself. Direction: Read the statements carefully. Choose the letter of the correct answer. Write your answer in ¼ sheet of paper.

1. What is the technique used to separate salt from water? A. Filtration B. Evaporation C. Picking

2.What happens when water is heated during evaporation? A. Water evaporates. B. Water will back to salt again. C. Water will be mixed to salt solution.

3. Which of the following is needed to separate water from salt solution? A. Heating B. Cooling C. Stirring

4. What form of gas comes out during the heating process ? A. Vapor B. Ice C. Clouds

5. Where does water vapor go during evaporation process? A. Into the atmosphere. B. Under ground. C. Floating on water again.
