Ask yourself the following questions: What skills do I currently have or enjoy using? What industries have I worked in previously or would be interested in working in? How do my current strengths align with the “current job market”? Ex: Self Assessment Tools: Strengths Finder, or Myers Briggs

Setting SMART Goals for Job Hunting

SMART Goals Defined Specific: Target specific roles or industries Measurable: Track applications, networking contacts, and progress Achievable: Set realistic daily or weekly goals Relevant: Ensure goals align with career aspirations Time-bound: Set a timeline for each step of the job search process EX: I am a recent HS graduate that lives in MI with little employment experience. I will apply to Hourly jobs in the fast-food /service industry (cashier or cook) within a 3-10 mile radius of my home. My plan is to call at least 1 employer a day for the next 30 days after submitting an online or in person application, and will track this all via an excel spreadsheet.
