Linospan (Generic Linezolid Tablets) is an antibacterial used in adults and children for the treatment of the following infections caused by susceptible Gram-positive bacteria: Nosocomial pneumonia, Community-acquired pneumonia, Complicated skin and skin structure infections, including diabetic foot infections, without concomitant osteomyelitis, Uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections and Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium infections.
Linezolid tablets are active against most Gram-positive bacteria that cause disease, including streptococci, vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE), and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). You may be given additional medicines depending on the indication to be treated.
The dosage of Linospan tablets (Generic Linezolid Tablets)
is given below:
Nosocomial pneumonia, Community-acquired pneumonia, including
concurrent bacteremia, Complicated skin and skin structure
infections: 600 mg every 12 hours for a period of 10 to 14 days.
Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium infections, including
concurrent bacteremia: 600 mg every 12 hours for a period of 14
to 28 days.
Uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections: 400 mg every 12
hours for a period of 10 to 14 days

Linospan (Generic Linezolid Tablets) have to
be stored at controlled room temperature i.e.
from 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F) with
excursions permitted between 15° to 30°C
(59° to 86°F).
Keep this as well as all other medicines away
from children and pets.

Myelosuppression: Monitor complete blood counts weekly. Consider
discontinuation in patients who develop or have worsening
myelosuppression.
Peripheral and optic neuropathy: Reported primarily in patients treated for
longer than 28 days. If patients experience symptoms of visual
impairment, prompt ophthalmic evaluation is recommended.
Serotonin syndrome: Patients taking serotonergic antidepressants should
receive Linospan only if no other therapies are available. Discontinue
serotonergic antidepressants and monitor patients for signs and symptoms
of both serotonin syndrome and antidepressant discontinuation.
A mortality imbalance was seen in an investigational study in Linezolid-
treated patients with catheter-related bloodstream infections.
Clostridium difficile associated diarrhea: Evaluate if diarrhea occurs.
Potential interactions producing elevation of blood pressure: monitor
blood pressure.
Hypoglycemia: Postmarketing cases of symptomatic hypoglycemia have
been reported in patients with diabetes mellitus receiving insulin or oral
hypoglycemic agents.
Patients should be warned about the potential for dizziness or symptoms
of visual impairment whilst receiving Linospan (Generic Linezolid
Tablets) and should be advised not to drive or operate machinery if any of
these symptoms occurs.
