2. LINUX It came from the name Linus Benedict a software engineer who wrote 1 st version of system as in UNIX. It is an open source operating system modelled on UNIX. Defining component of Linux is the Linux Kernel.

3. UNIX It is a family of multi tasking, multiuser computer operating system developed at AT&T. Many other operating systems like LINUX and MAC inherited design aspects from UNIX.

4. MOBILE PHONE A mobile phone is a wireless handled device that allows user to make calls, send messages and many other features. Eg: Nokia, Samsung, HTC, Lenovo etc.

5. KERNEL A KERNEL connects application software to hardware of the computer. It is a program that constitutes the central core of a computer. It acts like an interface between software and hardware.

6. WHY LINUX? Operating systems that are embedded in mobile devices supports only limited number of hardware and software applications. As technology is touching heights Linux is the only OS which supports different standard and formats of mobile devices. It is an open source OS where user can customize their settings according to their needs. Linux provides more security than any other OS. Linux based operating systems which are able to compete with Android are Firefox OS, Open WebOS, Sailfish, Tizen, Ubuntu.

7. UBUNTU Ubuntu is one of the Linux distributions. The source code that makes up Ubuntu from Linux originate from much older Linux distribution called Debian. Debian is still a widely used OS but came facing criticisms for infrequent updates and not much user friendly.

8. MOTOROLA ROKR E2. It supports 1.3 MP camera for taking pictures. Its screen resolution is 240x320 FT(flash timing) display with 2,62,000 different colors. It has embedded FM Radio and Motorola radio service. It supports Bluetooth and MMS. It supports USB 2.0 PC networking using which we can transfer data from mobile to PC and vice versa. It supports opera web browser. It has personal information manager with picture called ID for managing contacts and emails.

11. Advantages It is an open source. More secure than other OS. You won’t have any trouble finding hardware and drivers . Most widely supported operating system for games .

12. Disadvantages Not user friendly. You are going to need more support compared to other OS.
