LUCKNOW METRO RAIL CORPORATION, LUCKNOW
ABOUT METRO Lucknow being the metro city in Uttar Pradesh and the largest city of north and central India after Delhi and has urban population about more than 5 million in 2015. The government decided to build a metro rail system in the state capital. The Lucknow Metro is an under construction rapid transit system in the city of Luckno w, India . Construction on the first phase began on 27 September 2014 . Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation Limited or LMRC is responsible to build and operate this network . The metro project will be the most expensive public transport system in the state of U ttar Pradesh , costing ₹ 12500 crore (US$2 billion) in phase 1 of construction which is expected to be operational in 2018 . Phase 2 will be started in 2018. It will provide speedy mass transport and help in reduce traffic congestion on city roads . The proposed metro rail network was planned to consist of two corridors: North- South and East-West one from Amausi to Munshi Pulia and other from Vasant Kunj to Charbagh Railway Station . Both lines will intersect a t Charbagh. The difference between arrival time of trains at each station is expected to be 7 minutes. This would be reduced to 5 minutes and then to 3 minutes in phases.The work would be finished by 201 8 of first phase

ELEVATED PROJECT OF LUCKNOW METRO There are eight Elevated station from KD Singh Babu Stadium to Munshipulia crossing in Indiranagar. This stretch is a part of North- South, Phase 1A metro corridor extending from Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport to Munshipulia (around 23 kms). The cost of building this viaduct along with elevated stations including special spans on North-south Corridor, Phase 1A of Lucknow Metro is Rs 675, 33, 48, 424 (Rupees Six Hundred Seventy Five Crores, Thirty Three Lakhs, Forty Eight Thousand, Four Hundred and Twenty Four).
WHAT IS C A S T I N G YARD ??
Casting yard is a confined place where all the concrete structures like U GIRDER, I GIRDER, PIER CAP, etc. are to be casted /manufactured and shifted to their stack yard cured for the specific period and then shifting to the work site after they gain their required strength.
LAYOUT OF CASTING YARD
REQUIREMENT OF CASTING YARD 1 Land should be available from 25 acres to 40 acres for establishing a casting yard. 2 It should not be more than 4 to 5 km from working site . 3 Proper drinking water facilities should be available for all workers. 4 Medical treatment center in case of emergency .
CONTENT
U GIRDER U-girder is a monolithic casted member. This is a specially designed U shaped Girder which basically provides a track for the running of Metro Train . Design is maintained in a such a shape so as to provide an Aesthetic attractiveness , Flexible shape to modify.
SPECIFICATION Length = 26950 mm Concrete Grade = M 55 Breadth = 5050 mm Concrete Quantity = 57m3 Height = 1870 mm Dia of Bars = 10mm 12 mm and 16 mm 11 no. of Shutter vibrator are used for compaction of concrete in curved side. & 40mm dia. needle vibrators are used for top layer.
JACKS Jacks are used to apply tension to the tendons. Hydraulic jacks are commonly used These jacks work on oil pressure generated by a pump. H.T. stand bar are used for pre- tensioning 1 jack = 400 tonnes Dia = 75 mm Six Jacks shall be used for stressing strands by jacks at one end.
CUTTING AND BENDING OF R EINFORCEMENT TMT Fe 500D steel bars of approved vendor shall be used. Reinforcement cutting ,bending shall be done at casting yard Approved BBs shall be used for cutting & bending. Reinforcement shall be protected from rusting ,mortars, mills scale ,grease ,oil or paints by covering with tarpaulin sheets .
I - GIRDER
WHAT IS I GIRDER ???? I-girder is a precast structure. Height of I-girder = 1400mm Reinforcement height =1200mm Upper portion flange = 750mm Lower portion flange = 500mm Concrete Grade : M 40 Concrete Quantity: 16 to 20 m3 Putty & sponges are used for prevent the leaking of the water & cement. Post-tensioning will be done at the site. After the gain the strength 40MPa we will shift to stack yard in a single tier.
PIER CAP Pier cap used for transferring the load on pier. The Upper or Bearing part of Bridge or Viaduct , Usually made of Concrete or Hard Stone which is designed to distribute concentrated loads evenly over the area of the pier The pier cap is the precast concrete pear cap which is designed to be placed on top of the pillar.
Length: 9200 mm ( Cover = 40mm) Height : 2000 mm Diameter of Bars : 16 and 25mm Concrete Grade : M 45 Concrete Q u a n tity: 27.3 m3 The dia. of sitting pipe is 124mm. 8 no. of pedestals are used for placing of U- girder.

THESE ARE PRESTRESSING DUCTS THROUGH WHICH POST TENSIONING WIRE ARE PASSED THROUGH ONE END TO ANOTHER END FOR STRESSING THESE HOLES ARE FOUND IN VERTICAL DIRECTIONS AT BOTTOM .
BATCHING PLANT It is a machine that combines various ingredients to form concrete. Some of these inputs include sand, water, aggregate (rocks, gravel, etc.), fly ash, potash, and cement. Batching plant is installing near the storage area.
SPECIFICATION Stora g e- 10mm aggregate 20mm aggregate Crushed sand Cement storage (OPC grade 53) The materials are transport in mixture via bucket. The capacity of bucket is 1 cum. The capacity of mixture plant is 60 cum/hr. Mixing will be done in 35-45 sec. Two admixture are use in batching plant.- Cement retarder concrete admixture sodium gluconate . (In 1%) Anti-corrosion admixture. (2.5%)
Silo is use for prevent the lumps formation. Its capacity is 100 M ton . Chiller plant is always near the batching plant. Hopper of batching plant will be loaded from loader. Temperature of water in chiller plant is 10-20*C. In batching plant 4 bins are used :- For 10mm aggregate For 20mm aggregate For crushed stone Water treatment tank
Gantry cranes are a type of crane built at top a gantry, which is a structure used to straddle an object or workspace. These Gantry cranes run over the rail track which are laid in the precast yard. At the project location they were 4 in Nos. with 3 having capacity of 100 MT for lifting (U-Girders, Pier Cap , Beam , I-Girder), while 1 is of 25 MT for ( Steel Yard). GANTRY
Special concrete transport trucks (in–transit mixers) are made to transport and mix concrete up to the construction site .One Transit Mixer has the capacity of loading 6m3 of Concrete at a time to the site. The concrete mixing transport truck maintains the material's liquid state through agitation, or turning of the drum, until delivery. TRANSIT MIXER
BOOM PLACER A concrete pump is a machine used for transferring liquid concrete by pumping. It is known as a trailer-mounted boom concrete pump because it uses a remote controlled articulating robotic arm (called a boom) to place concrete accurate.
