Lux , unit of illumination in the International System of Units (SI). One lux is the amount of illumination provided when one lumen is evenly distributed over an area of one square metre . Lumen , unit of luminous flux, or amount of light , defined as the amount streaming outward through one steradian (a unit of solid angle, part of the volume of space illuminated by a light source) from a uniform point source having an intensity of one candela . Luminous intensity , the quantity of visible light that is emitted in unit time per unit solid angle. One lux is equal to 0.0929 foot-candle . LUX Meter
Operation of the lux meter Switch "ON" the lux meter. Ensure initial reading should be " Zero“ Select the range as per the requirement (A or B or C). Hold the light sensor facing towards the light. The display will show Lux value . The multiplication of displayed va l ue with multiplying factor will be the actual lux . Monitoring of lux level 1. Hold the lux meter at minimum five location. 2. Measure the lux at 1 meter height from ground level. 3. Record the readings in lux level monitoring record. 4. The average lux of all readings will be the lux level in the room.
