HISTORY:
In1856WilliamThomson(knownasLord
Kelvin)discoveredthemagnetoresistance
(OMR).
He uses iron pieces for his work.
Later replace iron with Nickel.
He was able to lower the resistance up to 5 %.

Magnetoresistance:
Thepropertyofthedevicewhoseelectricalresistancecanbechanged
whenitisplacedinanexternally-appliedmagneticfield.
So,itcanbesaythisisthetypeofresistorwhoseresistancevariesafter
applyinganexternalmagneticfield.
