MAJOR DOMAINS OF THE EARTH MADE BY SAUMYA VISHWAKARMA
We know that our Earth is the only planet that is known to support life Earth is the planet we live on, and it's the third planet from the sun. It's made up of land, water, and air, and it orbits the sun.
WHAT ARE THE FOUR MAJOR DOMAINS OF THE EARTH? The Four Domains of the Earth are: Lithosphere- The outermost part of the Earth which consists of Upper Mantle and Crust of the Earth is known as Lithosphere. Tectonic plates are a subdivision of Lithosphere. Hydrosphere- The hydrosphere includes water on earth in Oceans, Seas, Rivers, Lakes and even in frozen forms. Atmosphere- The earth is surrounded by a layer of gas called the atmosphere. Biosphere – The region of the earth where life can be found including the soil, water and air.
WHAT IS LITHOSPHERE? The lithosphere is the solid, outermost shell of the Earth . The whole lithosphere (land part) is broken into several plates. The blocks of landmass are known as lithospheric plates or tectonic plates. The lithosphere has seven large plates and several small plates. . MT. EVEREST Mount Everest , mountain on the crest of the Great Himalayas of southern Asia that lies on the border between Nepal and the Tibet Autonomous Region of China , at 27°59′ N 86°56′ E. Reaching an elevation of 29,032 feet (8,849 meters), Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the world .
MARINA TRENCH Mariana Trench , deep-sea trench in the floor of the western North Pacific Ocean , the deepest such trench known on Earth , located mostly east as well as south of the Mariana Islands . It is part of the western Pacific system of oceanic trenches coinciding with subduction zones —points where two adjacent tectonic plates collide, one being forced below the other. An arcing depression, the Mariana Trench stretches for more than 1,580 miles (2,540 km) with a mean width of 43 miles (69 km).
THE SEVEN MAJOR CONTINENTS … Asia called the largest continent on Earth by area and number of people. It is mainly in the northern hemisphere Asia is connected to Europe in the west and Africa on the south . Sometimes Asia and Europe are combined to form a larger continent Eur asia . Some of the oldest human civilization began in Asia. Asia is separated from Europe by the Ural mountains. Europe is a continent in the Northern and Eastern Hemispheres. It's bordered by the Arctic Ocean to the north, the Atlantic Ocean to the west, the Mediterranean Sea to the south, and Asia to the east . Africa is the world's second-largest continent, after Asia. It's home to many countries, including Nigeria, South Africa, and Kenya. Africa is known for its natural resources, including water, oil, minerals, and wildlife. This is the only continent through which the Tropic of cancer, the equator and the Tropic of Capricorn passes World’s largest desert the Sahara desert is located in Africa and the world’s longest river Nile flows through Africa. North America is a continent in the Western and Northern Hemispheres. It's bordered by the Arctic Ocean to the north, the Atlantic Ocean to the east, the Pacific Ocean to the west and south, and South America and the Caribbean Sea to the southeast .
South America is a continent [g] entirely in the Western Hemisphere [h] and mostly in the Southern Hemisphere , with a considerably smaller portion in the Northern Hemisphere . It can also be described as the southern subregion of the Americas . South America is bordered on the west by the Pacific Ocean , on the north and east by the Atlantic Ocean , and to the south by the Drake Passage ; North America and the Caribbean Sea lie to the northwest. Australia , officially the Commonwealth of Australia , is a country comprising the mainland of the Australian continent , the island of Tasmania and numerous smaller islands . Australia has a total area of 7,688,287 km 2 (2,968,464 sq mi), making it the sixth largest count ry in the world and the largest in Oceania . It is the world's oldest, flattest, and driest inhabited continent, with some of the least fertile soils. It is a megadiverse country , and its size gives it a wide variety of landscapes and climates including deserts in the interior and tropical rainforests along the coast. Antarctica is Earth 's southernmost and least-populated continent . Situated almost entirely south of the Antarctic Circle and surrounded by the Southern Ocean (also known as the Antarctic Ocean), it contains the geographic South Pole . Antarctica is the fifth-largest continent, being about 40% larger than Europe , and has an area of 14,200,000 km 2 (5,500,000 sq mi). Most of Antarctica is covered by the Antarctic ice sheet , with an average thickness of 1.9 km (1.2 mi). This Photo by Unknown Author is licensed under CC BY-SA

WHAT IS HYDROSPHERE A hydrosphere is the total amount of water on a planet . The hydrosphere includes water that is on the surface of the planet, underground, and in the air. A planet's hydrosphere can be liquid, vapor, or ice. On Earth, liquid water exists on the surface in the form of oceans, lakes, and rivers. This Photo by Unknown Author is licensed under CC BY-SA
OCEAN ocean is the body of salt water that covers approximately 70.8% of Earth the term ocean also refers to any of the large bodies of water into which the world ocean is conventionally divided. The following names describe five different areas of the ocean: Pacific , Atlantic , Indian , Antarctic/Southern , and Arctic . The ocean contains 97% of Earth's water And is the primary component of Earth's hydrosphere and is thereby essential to life on Earth. The ocean influences climate and weather patterns, the carbon cycle , and the water cycle by acting as a huge heat reservoir .
WHAT IS ATMOSPHERE One of the main components of Earth’s interdependent physical systems is the atmosphere. An atmosphere is made of the layers of gases surrounding a planet or other celestial body. Earth’s atmosphere is composed of about 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, and one percent other gases. These gases are found in atmospheric layers (troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere, thermosphere, and exosphere) defined by unique features such as temperature and pressure. The atmosphere protects life on earth by shielding it from incoming ultraviolet (UV) radiation, keeping the planet warm through insulation, and preventing extremes between day and night temperatures. The sun heats layers of the atmosphere causing it to convict driving air movement and weather patterns around the world.
WHAT IS BIOSPHERE The biosphere is the part of Earth that supports life, including all living organisms, their habitats, and the remains of organisms that have died. It's also known as the ecosphere.
