Case Scenario
•A 28-year-old second gravida at 32 weeks of
gestation comes to OPD for a routine ANC check-up.
She gave history of previous LSCS at 39 weeks for
breech presentation. On examination, she is 30
weeks, her uterus deviated to right and breech
presentation. She wants to know the chances of
vaginal trial and further management.
•How will you counsel this patient?

DEFINITION
•The lie is Longitudinal and Podalic pole present at the Pelvic
brim
•Commonest mal presentation

INTRODUCTION
•Incidence: 3-4%

•Breech presentation : 25% 28 weeks
7% at 32 weeks, 1-3% at term
•Perinatal mortality : 2- 4 rise
•Deaths : malformations, prematurity, and intrauterine fetal
demise.

Predisposing Factors
•Prematurity
•Uterine abnormalities
•Fetal abnormalities, and
•Multiple gestations.

• TYPES OF BREECH
•Frank breech (50-70%)
•Complete breech (5-10%)
•Footling or incomplete (10-30%).
