4. What is a plastic and bottle?
“ Plastic meaning is a synthetic material that are made from
a wide range of organic polymers (such as polyethylene,
nylon, PVC ,etc.,) and it can be mouldedinto shape while it
soft, and then set into a rigid or slightly elastic form.
“ A bottle is explained as a glass or plastic container with a
narrow neck that are used to store drinks or any liquids
inside. ”

5. The application of Plastic bottle.
The main purpose of plastic bottle is to store water, drinks or any
suitable liquid.
To store Mineral water Drinks Oil Detergent

example storing medicines.

Polyetheleneterephthalate also known as PET
•PET is made up of two different chemical substances that undergo chemical
reaction which are ethylene glycol and terepthalicacid which producing
petroleum hyrocarbons
•Inordertoproduce a plastic bottle, the polymerization of PET is needed to
create long molecular chain

12. Notice or not the triangle symbol with numbers at the bottom of the plastic
beverage bottle section?
I used to believe those numbers represented how many times they could be
used.
But, what is the meaning of those symbol?

13. Those symbols are actually represented the material and different
type of polymer used in making the product.
The symbol also tell about the safety of the material used in the
product.
There are 7 numbers which everynumberindicates different polymer.

17. How PET is made?
•Produced by polymerization of ethylene glycol and terephtalicacid
•Ethylene glycol known as colourless liquid obtained from ethylene while terephtalicacid
is a crystalline solid obtained from xylene
•When ethylene glycol and terephtalicacid are heated together with the presence of catalyst,
it will produced PET in the form of molten , viscous mass that can be spun directly to fibres
or solidified for later processing as aplastic

24. Pre-forms are
reloaded into
a feeder
Pre-forms run through
quartz heaters to be
heated, then it is
insert into the mold
The pre-forms is blown and
stretched into the mold
axially and radially, where
it assumes a bottle shape
The mold must be cooled
relatively quickly, so that
that the newly formed
component is set properly.
Once the bottle has cooled
and set, it is ready to be
removed from the mold.
The plastic bottles
are ready for
transportation or
filling
