These slides were prepared by The Chamber For a Greater Chapel Hill-Carrboro in 2021 to help key stakeholders better understand the Research Triangle Region and the many conflicting ways the counties of the region are divided and cut, including by Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) and Combined Statistical Area (CSA), Council of Governments, economic development (i.e., Research Triangle Regional Partnership aka RTRP and the economic development prosperity zone), transportation (three DOT districts and two Metropolitan Planning Organizations aka MPOs), and workforce development boards (three workforce boards).
