Basic Electricity Electricity is a form of energy. It is a major source of energy for the operation of many parts in the refrigeration system. Electricity has many sources, it can produce from chemicals, pressure, lights, heat waves, and magnetism. Direct Current and Alternating Current Direct current travels in one direction, from negative to positive.It has polarity, positive and negative. Alternating current has no polarity since it is continually rapidly reversing.
