Parts of division

❖Dividend : means the number that is being divided.
Ex: 6 ÷ 2 = 3
❖Divisor : means the number that divides the dividend
or first number.
Ex: 6 ÷ 2 = 3
❖Quotient : means the answer you get after dividing
1st number by 2nd.
Ex: 6 ÷ 2 = 3

Division facts
Division of any number by 1 ,
the answer is always the
number itself.
Ex- 6 ÷ 1 = 6 , 89 ÷ 1 = 89

Division of any number
by 0, the answer is always
zero.
Ex- 6 ÷ 0 = 0, 89 ÷ 0 = 0

Division of any number by the
number itself, the answer is always
one (1).
Ex- 6 ÷ 6 = 1, 89 ÷ 89 = 1
