Media Studies Prep for Rock Music Video and Website.
I really like this idea from the Motley Crue website, where it describes each individual in the band and their role. I think this would suit the style I am trying to create. I am interested in including a tour schedule for my music artist. I feel as though this would make a lovely addition to the website.
Recently, I began watching Mamma Mia. I feel as though this decision couldn't have come at a better time as I am in awe at the fabulous transitions that are used in the film. I have taken these transitions as inspiration for my music video as I feel they would fit perfectly with the style I would like to try. I will look at lots of transitions Modern films famous for transitions and camerawork Ideas of what to include in the music video based on other videos that I have watched. Although this isn't a rock artist, I briefly browsed at their website to see how they have used codes and conventions to target their audience and promote their songs. I was particularly interested by this part of their website, as they have included a "podcast" tab. I think that this would work very well as a drop-down bar in a Rock artist's website. I am very interested in this link at the bottom of the page as it directs viewers to the different places that they can listen to the artist's music. I would love to include this in my own website for my music artist as I think this is a very good idea.
I think this is a nice idea as it shows that the artist is popular and has many fans. I will consider including this in my own website as I feel it would make a nice addition. Perhaps, instead of Instagram, I could use Facebook instead. I also like the addition of the news articles about the artist.
GALLERIES AND PHOTOS I really like these two styles of galleries that I have found on the official websites of Metallica and Nirvana. It looks really organised and fits the style of the bands perfectly. I like how Nirvana's signature colour is orange, and I think that I will try to associate a particular colour with my music artist, perhaps a dark blue or red. I think that when I come to creating my website, I will create some album covers and do a photoshoot specifically for the gallery, so I have a range of shots that link well to the artist and the music video.
I really like the symbols that have been associated with the Led Zeppelin website. I think they are very cool and fit well with this specific genre as they are mysterious. I would be delighting to include a symbol or sign for my music artist and even have it appear somewhere in the music video, perhaps are the end.
As I was looking at Queen's official website, I thought I should Check Brian May's website to see if I could gain any further inspiration on the codes and conventions.. Although I do not like the plainness of this website, I was interested to see this "On this day in Queen history" page. I found this very interesting, and I would love to be able to include something like this in my website. I think I will struggle to do every individual day I might do a monthly version of this. I really dislike how dull and plain this website is as I feel it doesn't converge well with the artist. Therefore, when I make my website, I will make sure that it isn’t plain and follows a similar style to that of the artist and the music video.
Songs considered: I really love this song and it is a sub-genre of rock. I have finally settled on this song as I feel that it will be the best way forward for me.
