3. RESEARCH CONTENT PERFORMANCE OF ALUINIUM AIR BATTERY USING DIFFERENT ELECTROLYTES AND MnO2 AS A CATALYST

4. ABSTRACT Performance of Aluminium air battery was analyzed with open configuration, by developing more than 15 cells. The Anode used was Aluminium along with varying assembly of electrolytes, thickness of electrolyte absorber, ratio of MnO2 catalyst coated on the surface of Activated carbon, and thickness of Aluminium plate, and Area of the cell. Graphical interpretation is developed to represent the comparative results of relative variation on the basis of observation of experimental results in terms of Voltage and Current output. NaOH and KOH was used as basic electrolytes of different concentrations.

5. Experimental Methodology After deep literature review, project modernization and experimental approach we took in consideration the practicality of Aluminum as anode and analyzed the fluctuation of cell performance in terms of, Electrolyte (KOH and NaOH ) optimum concentration. Different size and quantity and activated carbon Granules. Different thickness of anode plates. Different area of anode plates. Different thickness of electrolyte absorbers. Using activated carbon coated with MnO2 (Manganese oxide) Different concentrations of electrolytes in mls .

6. CONCLUSION On behalf of the analysis obtained through experiments, we concluded the insignificance of MnO2 in Aluminium air battery while using basic medium electrolyte, and the significance of NaOH over KOH in terms of low cost with lower concentration and similar results. Ampere is dropped by thickening the activated carbon layer, and ampere is enhanced by smaller optimum surface area of activated carbon granules.
