Ranging: The process of establishing intermediate point on a straight line between two end points is known as ranging . 2
Types of Ranging There are two types of ranging: 1. Direct ranging 2. Indirect ranging 3
Direct Ranging Ranging if the points are inter visible 4 A P Q R B S Direct ranging is done when the two ends of the survey lines are inter visible. In such cases , ranging can be done by eye or through some optical instrument such as theodolite etc.
2. Indirect Ranging 5 Ranging when points are not visible
Survey lines Main survey lines :- Lines joining the main survey stations are called main survey lines. Base line :-The biggest of the main survey line is called base line.
