About This Presentation

This development of “Microcontroller and GSM based power measurement and monitoring
system” is for measuring the voltage and current at a time for the user. The aim of the project is
to show the voltage and current based on a peak value by microcontroller system (Arduino). The
project constitute...

PREVENTION OF ELECTRICITY THEFT USING AUTOMATED WIRELESS SYSTEM Submitted By: Supervised By: MOHAMMAD ASIF UL HAQ Lecturer Department of EEE Green University of Bangladesh MD. JAHANGIR ALAM ID: 181001017   SOUROVE ID: 181001047  MD. SLAIMAN ID: 181001048

Objectives To meet present- day conditions of the country, the government keeps trying at generating further power which isn't enough, and also, is inefficiently expensive. The generated power has to be employed in a resourceful manner through close monitoring of power consumption and losses because illegal electricity operation may laterally affect the profitable status of a country. Therefore, the ideal of this design is to propose a way out of the issue of power theft involving styles and the operation of similar outfit, the expenditure of which would be relatively reasonable for the government.

Introduction Energy stealing is a highly general complication among countries as Bangladesh where consumers of energy are attractive consistently as the demography increment. Necessity in electricity process are ruiming the sum of produce every year remaining to energy stealing. It is perfectly unattainable to check and make up out stealing by going each customer’s door to door. In this project, a new method is pursued based on Microcontroller Atmega328P to find out and monitoring the energy meter from power stealing and it by remotely disconnect and reconnecting the service line of a particular consumer. An SMS will be sent automatically to the utility central server through GSM module whenever unauthorized activities detected and a separate message will send back to the microcontroller in order to disconnect the unauthorized supply.

Methodology The research strategies which are followed here, planning the project and the total research project was divided in different parts. Planning for design and configuration Collecting spare parts Assembling and coding Calibration for absolute performance Result

Schematic Design

Arduino UNO Arduino is an open- source electronics prototyping platform grounded on flexible, easy-to- use tackle and software. It's intended for artists, contrivers, potterers, and anyone interested in creating interactive objects or surroundings. Arduino can smell the terrain by entering input from a variety of detectors and can affect its surroundings by controlling lights, motors, and other selectors.

Current Sensor (ACS-712) The Allegro ACS712 provides provident and precise results for AC or DC current seeing in artificial, marketable, and dispatches systems. The device package allows for easy perpetration by the client. Typical operations include motor control, cargo discovery and operation, switched-mode power inventories, andover -current fault protection.

VOLTAGE TRANSFORMER Voltage Transformer is a step-down veritably accurate turn rate. A standard measuring device is used to measure the change in high magnitude to lower voltage for a step-down motor. It works in a fashion with further primary turns and smaller secondary turns. Upper- value voltage and current can not be measured directly.

Buck CONVERTER(DC TO DC CONVERTER) A  buck converter  ( step-down converter ) is a  DC-to-DC power converter  which steps down voltage (while drawing less average current) from its input (supply) to its output (load). It is a class of  switched-mode power supply  (SMPS) typically containing at least two semiconductors (a  diode  and a  transistor , although modern buck converters frequently replace the diode with a second transistor used for  synchronous rectification ) and at least one energy storage element, a  capacitor ,  inductor , or the two in combination.

16X2 LCD With a wide range of operations, the 16x2 (Liquid Crystal Display) display screen used then a introductory electronic display module and is veritably generally used in colorful bias and circuits. This module was more suited to serve our purpose and is generally more preferred over seven parts and other multi member LEDs because LCDs are provident, fluently programmable, have no limitation of displaying special & indeed custom-made characters .

Relay A  relay  is an  electrically  operated  switch . It consists of a set of input terminals for a single or multiple control signals, and a set of operating contact terminals. The switch may have any number of contacts in multiple  contact forms , such as make contacts, break contacts, or combinations thereof.

SIM800A GSM Module SIM800A GSM/GPRS module is a miniature GSM modem, which can be integrated into a great number of IoT projects. You can use this module to accomplish almost anything a normal cell phone can; SMS text messages, Make or receive phone calls, connecting to internet through GPRS, TCP/IP, and more! To top it off, the module supports quad-band GSM/GPRS network, meaning it works pretty much anywhere in the world.

limitations To make this design is involving some limitations, the main limitation of the design is power is limited so we can not use it when need redundant power. We need redundant power the whole design system is changing so this system is precious. A wide range of frequentness is needed to grease a large number of druggies. To overcome this, carrier situations can be changed from region to region. Presently, it needed a power force of 220v for the operation, but a small battery with an automatic charging installation can be handed in real- time. If enforced on a large scale it may take a lot of time and homemade input.

CONCLUSION Direct connections to the power system, through tapping the power line is one of the styles extensively used in our country for electricity theft, a common form of marketable losses. Owing to the lack of information on both marketable and the legal loads in the system, marketable losses are nearly insolvable to measure using traditional power system analysis tools. The results of marketable losses measures in our country are frequently inaccurate. Whatever losses measured, are billed on the legal consumers also with the added inimical condition. The capability of the proposed system to inform or shoot data digitally to a remote station by using GSM modem adds a large quantum of possibilities to the way the power force is controlled by the electricity board.
