Mangosteen Common name : Mangosteen Scientific name : Garcinia mangostana Family : Clusiaceae

Origin : Island Southeast Asia. Propagation : Seed. Spacing for mangosteen is 7×7 m. Manures and fertilizers FYM 75 kg and NPK (1:0.8:3.0 kg/tree) June – July. Yield Upto 500-600 fruits/tree. The tree grows from 6 to 25 m (19.7 to 82.0 ft) tall. The fruit of the mangosteen is sweet and tangy, juicy, somewhat fibrous, with fluid-filled vesicles (like the flesh of citrus fruits), with an inedible, deep reddish-purple colored rind (exocarp) when ripe. In each fruit, the fragrant edible flesh that surrounds each seed is botanically endocarp, i.e., the inner layer of the ovary. The seeds are of similar size and shape to almonds.

Varieties : purple passion fruit (fruits of  Passiflora edulis   Sims), yellow passion fruit ( Passiflora edulis f. flavicarpa  Deg.), sweet granadilla ( Passiflora ligularis ), giant granadilla ( Passiflora quadrangularis  L.) Spacing : 2×2m. Manures and fertilizers : FYM 10 kg, N 20 g, P 20 g and K 15 g/plant. Yield : 60 - 80 fruits/vine. Origin : South America And B razil. Propagation : seedling Optimum temperature 20 – 30 C p H 6.0 – 7.0

Bilimbi Common name : Bilimbi Scientific name : Averrhoa bilimbi Family : Oxalidaceae

Manure and fertilizer : N : 80 g P : 50 g K : 100 g/ bearing tree/year. Yield : 50 kg/tree. It is propagated by  seed  or, more rarely, by air layering . Temp : 23 – 30 degree C . pH :   5.5 – 6.5. Origin : Moluccas, Indonesia. Averrhoa bilimbi is a small tropical tree reaching up  to 15m  in height.

Carambola Common name : Carambola Scientific name : Averrhoa carambola Family : Oxalidaceae

Temperature : 20 – 35 C. Origin : Southeast Asia. Carambola fruits contain oxalic acid and the neurotoxin caramboxin . Consuming large quantities of the fruit, especially for individuals with some types of kidney disease, can result in serious adverse health effects. Common cultivars of carambola include: Sweet types: "Arkin" (Florida), "Yang Tao" (Taiwan), "Ma fueng " (Thailand), "Maha" (Malaysia), and "Demak" (Indonesia). karonda Common name :karonda Scientific name : Carissa caranda Family : Apocynaceae

Origin : Himalayas Propagation : budding and inarching Temperature : 20 – 30 C Variety : Green, pink, white. Manure and fertilizer : FYM : 10 kg/ plant. Yield : 2 to 4 kg/tree. pH : 8.1. Karonda fruit has been reported a rich source of phenolic contents, terpenoids, flavonoids, vitamins, acids, minerals, peptides and sugars. The fruit are also a rich source of iron and vitamin-C, and thus have antiscorbutic properties and are useful in prevention of anaemia .

West Indian Cherry Common name : West Indian Cherry. Scientific name : Malphigia punicifolia . Family : Malpighiaceae .
