INTRODUCTION Agriculture plays a vital role in the Indian economy with over 58% of rural households depending on agriculture. The need for timely access to information for decision making in agriculture and allied sectors needs no emphasis.

Mobile communication technology Mobile applications– Agricultural Rural Development by providing access to information, market and services to rural inhabitants (world bank, 2012).

Mobile applications Message that can be delivered will have combination of information mix ( audio+video+text+graphics+animations ) Recent apps are in local languages that too in audio and video format so illiterate can access information anywhere and at any time. Internet-some apps require internet and some don’t require. For easy operations- appropriate icons which are recognizable by farmers are developed with simple touch screen technology.

Kisan suvidha Developed by: Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers.

Kisan suvidha is an omnibus mobile app developed to help farmers by providing revelant information. Weather, Market Price, Dealers, Plant Protection, Agro Advisory, Call To KCC

Soil health card Soil Health Card scheme is a Government of India scheme promoted by the Department of Agriculture, Co-operation and Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and being implemented in the state and union territories. A SHC gives soil nutrients status to each farmer for his/her land holding and also gives advices on fertilizer dosage and soil ammendments needed to maintain soil health in the long run.

CCE agri mobile app In rural areas, there will be no or poor internet connection that is why this app has been designed in such a way that data can be collected without internet connection. It works in both online and offline mode. Internet is required only to download the app and doing registration. Affter that CCE data can be entered using this app without internet connection. And as and when internet is available, data can be pushed to the server.

Registration IN CCE Agri : Step1: Select the registration level(state, district, block) in registration form. Step2: complete the registration form by filling all the details in the registration form and then click on submit button. Step3: one user per state will be authorized by central level & that state level user further approve users of District & Block levels.

Home screen There are 4 Options available on the screen: CCE survey Saved CCE data View sent CCE data Approve user Approve* user option is avalaible for state and district level user.

LOGIN STEP 1: After successful registeration and approval you will be able to login. Step 2: Enter your mobile no. and Password to login into the app.

CCE SURVEY Select the picking type In crop cutting survey from mobile will automatically capture GPS and then further information can be filled. Click on photo button to capture photograph

CCE SURVEY After entering data, there are two options: Send Save and send later

Crop insurance Developed by: Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (DAC & FW). It provides details of crop insurance.

Features: Crop insurance mobile app can be used to calculate the insurance premium for notified crops based on area, coverage amount and loan amount in case of loanee farmer. It can also used to get details of normal sum insured, extended sum insured, of any of notified crop in notified area.

eNAM : Developed by: Small Farmer Agribusiness Consortium(SFAC), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Govt. of India. Purpose of mobile app is to facilitate remote bidding by traders and access to arrivals and price related information to farmers and other holders on their smart phones.

Recently developed mobile applications in 2019 Meghdoot : The Ministry of Earth Sciences and Agriculture have launched a mobile application that will provide location, and crop and livestock-specific weather- based agro advisories to farmers in local languages.
