CHERRY ANN JANE MOLLENA HANNAH L. SALA Intake & Exhaust SYSTEM

ALL ABOUT INTAKE SYSTEM (Introduction with its functions and components) 04 03 SUMMARY Summary of the topic CONCLUSIONS You can describe the topic of the section right here ALL ABOUT EXHAUST SYSTEM (Introduction with its functions and components) 02 01 TABLE OF CONTENTS

INTRODUCTION OF INTAKE SYSTEM WITH ITS FUNCTIONS AND COMPONENTS 01

INTAKE SYSTEM The intake system is in charge of pulling air into the engine - responsible for providing a high volume of purified air to each of the engine's cylinders.

COMPONENTS AND ITS FUNCTIONS Air Filter Throttle Body Intake Manifold Air Intake Ducts The air filter removes particles and impurities from the incoming air, protecting the engine from damage and premature wear. The throttle body regulates the airflow by controlling the opening and closing of the throttle valve, which affects the engine's power and responsiveness. The intake manifold distributes the filtered air to each cylinder, ensuring a balanced supply for efficient combustion. The air intake ducts connect the intake manifold to the air filter and throttle body, transporting the filtered air to the engine.

TYPES OF INTAKE SYSTEM COLD AIR INTAKE A cold air intake brings in cooler outside air, improving combustion efficiency and potentially increasing horsepower. RAM AIR INTAKE A ram air intake system uses the vehicle's forward motion to force more air into the engine, enhancing performance at higher speeds. SHORT RAM INTAKE A short ram intake provides a more direct and shorter air path, improving throttle response and generating a sporty induction sound.

EXHAUST SYSTEM 02

EXHAUST SYSTEM The exhaust system collects the exhaust gases from the cylinders, removes harmful substances, reduces the level of noise and discharges the purified exhaust gases at a suitable point of the vehicle away from its occupants.

COMPONENTS AND ITS FUNCTIONS Exhaust Manifold Catalytic Converter Intake Manifold Air Intake Ducts The exhaust manifold collects and channels exhaust gases from each cylinder into a single pipe, directing them towards the catalytic converter. The catalytic converter reduces harmful emissions by converting toxic gases, such as carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides, into less harmful compounds. The muffler dampens the noise generated by the engine's combustion process, improving driving comfort and reducing noise pollution. The exhaust pipes transport the exhaust gases from the engine to the exit point, ensuring a proper flow and minimizing backpressure.

IMPORTANCE OF EXHAUST SYSTEM EXHAUST SYSTEM Exhaust Gas Disposal Noise Reduction Engine Performance safely channels and expels harmful gases reduce noise levels produced by the engine's combustion process, ensuring a quieter driving experience allows for better engine breathing, leading to improved performance, increased power, and enhanced fuel efficiency.

EXHAUST SYSTEM REGULATIONS 03 02 01 Emissions Standards Manufacturers must create exhaust systems that reduce harmful emissions to meet the strict standards and contribute to cleaner air and a more sustainable environment. Noise Regulations Vehicle noise levels are strictly regulated by local noise regulations to prevent noise pollution and ensure peaceful neighborhoods. Quality Assurance Exhaust systems undergo thorough testing and quality assurance procedures to meet safety standards and ensure durability under various driving conditions.

HOW DOES EXHAUST AND INTAKE SYSTEM WORK TOGETHER

SUMMRY The intake system filters, regulates, and distributes air to the engine for optimal combustion The components of the intake system include the air filter, throttle body, intake manifold, and air intake ducts. Cold air intake, ram air intake, and short ram intake are common types of intake systems The exhaust system disposes of harmful exhaust gases, reduces noise, and improves engine performance. The components of the exhaust system include the exhaust manifold, catalytic converter, muffler, and exhaust pipes. Exhaust systems must meet emissions and noise regulations, ensuring cleaner air and quieter communities.

Intake and Exhaust System Maintenance Matters Improved performance Increased lifespan Reduced environmental impact
