animation that is delivered interactively to the user through
electronic or digitally manipulated means.

•A multimedia product uses a combination of images, words and
sounds to present information to the user. Following are some
multimedia products:
1.Briefing Products
2.Reference Products
3.Database Products
4.Education and Training Products
5.Kiosk Products
6.Entertainment and Games Products
1. BRIEFING PRODUCTS
•These are the small, straight-forward, linear products used to present the
information quickly and concisely.
Characteristics:
Short development cycle
Limited number of presentations
Usage of text to present information with limited use of graphic, audio and
video
Have few navigational controls
Content and the format are suitable for the audience and fulfill the
purpose of the presentation
Examples: Corporate presentation, Sales presentation, Educational lectures,
etc.
2. REFERENCE PRODUCTS
•These products are often used for answering specific questions or for general
browsing of information.
•It is divided into two basic classes and they are:
1)Generalized content
Broad treatment of content at a limited depth
2) Detailed content
Focus on specific area and provide extensive information
Characteristics:
Used by wide range of user
Have navigational menu, book marking, searching, printing utility
Examples: Encyclopedia, Dictionaries, Scientific survey, etc.

•Similar to reference product in a sense that large amount of information

graphic, audio, etc.

•Similar to training manuals or textbook but have added media such
as audio, video, animation, etc.
•It makes up an important share of the multimedia market offerings
from technical to corporate training products.

•A product which is usually stationed at public places and allow the user to find
