Levator Ani Muscles:

in males ( levator prostatae ) females ( pubovaginalis) Pubococcygeus : Cocccyx - perineal body Iliococcygeus : Coccyx - anococcygeal ligament.

Puborectalis: anorectal junction Blood supply: the 3 muscle supplied by inferior gluteal artery Innervated by branches of the pudendal nerve, roots S2, S3 and S4.

Coccygeus:

The roles of the pelvic floor muscles are: Support of abdominopelvic viscera  (bladder, intestines, uterus etc .) increases in intra-abdominal pressure.   sphincter action on the rectum and urethra. They relax to allow urination and defecation.
