Hindus celebrating X during the spring months. Having witnessed their joy, he

X published Y in the 1930s, just a few months before Disney's Snow White hit
theaters. Unlike Disney's cheerful and playful ________, X's ________ were
inspired by grim Nordic mythology. The author reportedly viewed Disney's portrayal
as an oversimplification of a concept he deeply valued. This personal opinion
affected Disney later when Y's film rights were sold with the condition that "It might
be advisable [...] to let the Americans do what seems good to them — as long as it
was possible [...] to veto anything from or influenced by the Disney studios (for all
whose works I have a heartfelt loathing)." - X
To this day, Disney is not involved with the films and adapted works related to Y.
Identify who is X and Y.

Question 3
During the late 1970s, an artist would throw a variety of objects from his apartment
rooftop at his test subjects: his friends, who were sharply dressed in business attire,
and record their protective and exaggerated gestures of leaps, trips, falls, and
stumbles. This document of human motion later inspired the artwork, Men In Cities,
a series of monochrome charcoal and graphite drawings. Interestingly, some of
these drawings were chosen to be displayed in this early 2000s Hollywood film to
symbolically accentuate what is about to happen, as the artwork's choreography is
believed to be perfectly suited for scenes implying the presence of a villain in the
film.
Identify the film.
Answer
American Psycho
Question 4

aging and how the perception of love changes over the course of time. When they
were young, ______ and ______ fall in love, but a combination of tragic and
unforeseen circumstances prevent them from getting married. X talks about love and

limitations. It was coined in a 1960s wartime novel of the same name, X.

The huge success of Through the Looking-Glass meant that author was frequently
asked who the main character was based on. He was generally coy about giving an

included a poem at the end entitled "A Boat Beneath a Sunny Sky," which contained
some clues. The following is the poem. How did Carroll incorporate hints about his
family friend in it?
(poem on the next slide)
Question 20
A boat beneath a sunny sky,
Lingering onward dreamily
In an evening of July —
Children three that nestle near,
Eager eye and willing ear,
Pleased a simple tale to hear —
Long has paled that sunny sky:
Echoes fade and memories die:
Autumn frosts have slain July.
Still she haunts me, phantomwise,
Alice moving under skies
Never seen by waking eyes.
Children yet, the tale to hear,
Eager eye and willing ear,
Lovingly shall nestle near.
In a Wonderland they lie,
Dreaming as the days go by,
Dreaming as the summers die:
Ever drifting down the stream —
Lingering in the golden gleam —
Life, what is it but a dream?
Answer
Included an acrostic poem in which the
first letter of every line spells out “Alice
Pleasance Liddell."
Question 21
In August 1943, Allied powers employed air strikes, to bring down Hitler's biggest ally
in Europe. On August 15, a high explosive bomb landed a mere 80 feet away from a
building. The building was virtually demolished, with the roof caving in, the cloister
collapsing and entire walls being blown out. Miraculously, one particular wall seemed
completely unaffected by the explosion. Officials wanted to protect this wall with
sandbags and scaffoldings, beforehand as a precaution. Ironically, this was not the
first time this structure had come close to destruction. During the Napoleonic Wars,
soldiers bunked in this building used this structure as target practice which was an
almost blasphemous act.
Give funda behind the structure.
Answer
The wall on which The Last
Supper was painted at the Santa
Maria delle Grazie in Italy, Milan.
