The Slogan of Science Day is Empower society through science . Every day's a discovery, every discovery a new day. Embrace curiosity, celebrate science. For the love of science and the future it shapes. The theme for National Science Day 2025 is " Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science & Innovation for Viksit Bharat ".

The day marks the discovery of the Raman Effect by Indian scientist C.V. Raman in 1928 . C.V. Raman was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930 for this discovery. The day is observed to encourage scientific knowledge and innovation. It aims to promote a scientific attitude among the youth and the general public.

Alexander Graham Bell developed  the world's first working telephone , receiving a patent on the 7 March 1876. Scottish-born Alexander Graham Bell (1847 to 1922), developed the world's first working telephone, receiving a patent from the United States Patent Office 7 March 1876.

Galileo Galilei (1564-1642) is considered the father of modern science and made major contributions to the fields of physics, astronomy, cosmology, mathematics and philosophy. Galileo invented an improved telescope that let him observe and describe the moons of Jupiter, the rings of Saturn, the phases of Venus, sunspots and the rugged lunar surface.

Charles Darwin (1809–1882) is best known for developing the theory of evolution by natural selection. His theory explains how life on Earth evolved over time

Isaac Newton is generally regarded as one of the most famous mathematicians in history. He is credited with the discovery of gravity, the Universal Laws of Motion, calculus, the theory of color as an intrinsic quality of light, and reflecting telescopes.

Albert Einstein is famous for his theory of relativity and his equation E=mc2. His work changed the way people think about space and time.

Hippocrates of Kos (460-377 BCE) is known as the "Father of Medicine". He is credited with establishing modern medicine, which is based on observation and rational conclusions.

Pedanius Dioscorides known as father of Pharmacy was a Greek physician and pharmacologist whose work De materia medica was the foremost classical source of modern botanical terminology and the leading pharmacological text for 16 centuries .

Professor Mahadeva Lal Schroff is known as the "Father of Pharmacy Education in India". He was a pioneer in establishing pharmacy education and professionalization in India.

Jane Goodall: A primatologist and anthropologist, Goodall is known for her groundbreaking research on chimpanzee behavior. Her tireless advocacy for animal rights and conservation has made her a global icon.

M.S. Swaminathan, popularly known as the Father of India's Green Revolution, is credited with saving millions of people from starvation through his landmark work on enhancing productivity and production of wheat and rice crops during the 1960s-70s

Hiralal Chaudhuri was an Indian fisheries scientist. He is known as the "father of induced breeding" of the carp. The Blue revolution in India was developed on the basis of his work on seed production technology through Hypophysation .

Marie Curie (1867-1934) is famous for discovering radioactivity, polonium, and radium. She was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize, and the first person to win it twice.

Dr Rex N. Olinares , a professor emeritus at the University of the Philippines, is considered to be the "father of Environmental Science." He proposed that sanitation and hygienic measures are necessary to prevent the spread of microorganisms .

Charles Babbage is called the Father of computers. Charles Babbage's calculating engines are among the most renowned in the prehistory of computer technology.

Vikram Ambalal Sarabhai was one of the greatest scientists of India. He is widely regarded as the father of the Indian space programme . In fact he was a rare combination of a scientist, an innovator, industrialist and a visionary.

Stephen Hawking: Despite being diagnosed with ALS at a young age, Hawking became one of the most renowned theoretical physicists of our time. His work on black holes and the origins of the universe captivated the world, and his resilience in the face of adversity is deeply inspiring .

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was a former president of India and an Indian aerospace scientist . He was famous for his contributions to India's space and missile programs.

John McCarthy (1927 - 2011) is known as the "father of artificial intelligence" (AI). He was an American computer scientist and cognitive scientist who coined the term "artificial intelligence" in 1956.

let us take inspiration from great scientists and work towards a future where India leads in scientific research and technological advancements . It is to inspire the young innovators to develop the innovation in science, think critically and contribute to solve problems that benefit society. With hard work and right guidance young Indians can make Viksit Bharat a reality To encourage young minds to think creatively and develop new ideas Indian govt is helping students through programs like Start up India and Skill India that help India grow and Developed Nation.

Some key skill development schemes in India include: Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS), Craftsman Training Scheme (CTS), Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS), Skills Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion (SANKALP), Udaan, and various schemes focused on vocational training and upgradation of Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE).
