New features of Maintenance Module in Odoo 17

In Odoo, the Maintenance Module is a comprehensive tool designed to help organizations manage their equipment, machinery, and overall maintenance activities efficiently. This module enables users to schedule, track, and manage maintenance requests and activities, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal operational efficiency.

2. Introduction Enterpr ise In Odoo, the Maintenance Module is a comprehensive tool designed to help organizations manage their equipment, machinery, and overall maintenance activities efficiently. This module enables users to schedule, track, and manage maintenance requests and activities, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal operational efficiency. In Odoo 17, we can see some extra enhanced features added to the Maintenance module which seems very useful to increase productivity . Let’s discuss them

3. Enterprise When manufacturing, equipments hiccups can occur at any time. Also, it’ll be more convenient to create a maintenance request directly from the work order. Here comes the way to do it. Let’s head to Manufacturing module and navigate to Operations -> Manufacturing Orders. Create maintenance request from Work centres by b locking production schedules .

4. Enterprise Just open any one from the To Do list and I’m selecting the MO/00003 for Table Top here.

5. Enterprise Then, we want to start the work order for Table Top now, So let’s click on the Work Orders Tab from the form view. And then click n the blue colored external link arrow on right on right which will open the work order in a new window

6. Enterprise From the Pop up window opened, click on ‘Open Shop floor’ button on the top.

7. Enterprise Then comes a window like this where we can Start/pause the production timer, Add more steps in manufacturing the product, three dots to get extra features, close the window, etc. Click on three dots to get the feature to Request for Maintenance.

8. Enterprise Click on 3 dots to get the feature to Request for Maintenance.

9. Enterprise As we create Maintenance request from Maintenance module manually, we’ll get a form view to fill in so that we can give the Equipment, its maintenance issue, Team to assign, set priority, scheduled date, etc. Click on ‘Save’ and the request will be made. The Manufacturing Order and Work Order fields will be auto filled.

10. Enterprise From Maintenance module’s assigned Team’s dashboard grid the request can be seen and viewed from the pipeline.

11. Enterprise Then, pause the work order by clicking on the timer on the Title as marked and close the window using Close button on top right corner Once the maintenance is finished by the responsible team member addresses the request, the work order can be resumed since the equipment is ready to use.

12. Enterprise In Maintenance module’s Configuration -> Settings menu, enable the ‘Custom Maintenance Worksheets’ and save the settings. 2 . Worksheets are now available for Maintenance requests

13. Enterprise Now, an extra menu ‘Worksheet Templates’ can be seen under Configuration main menu. There we can create new worksheet templates or edit/design the template of the existing Default Worksheet.

14. Enterprise From the form view of the Default template, two buttons Design Template and Analysis are there. We can use the Analysis button to get the reports about the configured worksheets

15. Enterprise The Default template can be designed using the first button which gives a view like using studio where we can drag, drop and set the fields we need.

16. Enterprise Now, we will get a new field ‘Worksheet Template’ on creating the Maintenance request. Using this, the template we need can be selected. After saving the record, a Smart button on top comes with which we can add the worksheet as we need.

17. Enterprise While filling the worksheet, its view will come according to the design we’ve made so far from Configuration. After adding the worksheet, it displays as Worksheet Complete In this way, we can make use of the concept of Worksheets in Maintenance module as we’ve seen in the case of Field service module in earlier versions of Odoo.
