Renewable resources can be used indefinitely without any risk of depletion. Non-renewable resources take millions of years to form and cannot be replaced within a human lifespan. O verharvesting of renewable resources like forests and fish populations can lead to depletion. Burning fossil fuels, a non-renewable resource, contributes to air pollution and climate change. Solar and wind energy are examples of renewable resources that produce little to no pollution.
Recycling and reusing materials help conserve both renewable and non-renewable resources. Oil and coal are renewable resources because they are naturally occurring. Hydropower is a non-renewable resource because it relies on water, which is limited. Using too much groundwater without replenishing it can turn it into a non-renewable resource. Deforestation for agriculture or urban development is a proper use of renewable resources.
Renewable resources can be used indefinitely without any risk of depletion. Overfishing is an example of improper use of renewable resources. Proper management of water resources can prevent scarcity and water pollution. Recycling and reusing materials helps reduce the demand for non-renewable resources. Burning plastic that is made of petroleum is good for our environment.
