2. SCIENCE as per NCF- 2005 Objectives of Teaching Science at Upper Primary, Secondary And Higher Secondary Level (NCF-2005) by Asst.Prof . Ketan Kamble NCF-2005 means National Curriculum Framework 2005. NCF-2005 states that good science education is True to child :- Science we teach should be - 1)Understandable 2) engaging 3)meaningful 4) joyful to student/child while learning. True to life :- Science we teach should - 1) relate to child’s environment 2) prepare for work 3) promote concerns of life 4) preservation of environment True to science :- Science we teach should - 1) Convey significant aspects of science content. 2) at appropriate level . 3) engage the child in learning process of acquiring and validating scientific knowledge. 2

To continue child’s learning about environment and health including reproductive and sexual health. To involve student in group activities, discussion, survey of neighbourhood , display in exhibitions. 3

Ketan Kamble To engage students in learning science as composite discipline. To engage student in hands on activities and designing model advanced than upper primary level. To involve student in activities and analysis on issues related to environment and health including reproductive and sexual health. To engage student in systematic experimentation as tool to verify theoretical principles. To involve student to work in locally significant projects involving science and technology. 4

To enable student to connect science syllabi of secondary and higher secondary level. To enable student to learn core topics of discipline with appropriate rigour and depth. To update student with recent advances in the field of core topics related to particular discipline. 5
