Omair Sana Foundation: Intro Omair Sana Foundation (OSF) is an initiative taken back in 2002 by a Pakistan-born American doctor, Kashif Hussain Ansari. The Foundation is named after two kids, Omair and Sana, he lost to Blood Diseases. Under his leadership, OSF is run and managed by a group of highly qualified professionals from different walks of life. OSF’s Mission - (RREAL) R – Relief R – Rehabilitation E – Emergency A – Advocacy L - Lobbying The Foundation offers capacity building support to other thalassaemia centers across the country. OSF also provides health relief in disaster situations.

Scope of Work Prevention Family Screening Mass Screening CVS Genetic Counseling Community Participation Research CVS – Over 1200 performed; 300 aborted. Mostly from rural Sindh and Baluchistan . So far - 3500 Individuals of 525 families have been screened. On an average - 11,000 individuals screened annually, 7% minors reported. Awareness Material Research papers published in national and international journals. Over 200 workshops and 300 lectures held covering over 50,000 people. Thalassaemia Prevention program in leading educational institutions.

Scope of Work 12 bedded transfusion facility. Over 400 thalassaemia registered patients. On an average - 500 blood transfusions every month. Free consultation and medication. Regular iron chelation.
