EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
It is, in fact, my great experience during my Job Training in Sair E Dilli. The study helped to
know the general scenario of Experience the City of Delhi and some offbeat destination of India
(like Panipat, Sirhind). Its neighborhoods, as never before, explore the lesser known parts of the
city, enjoy heritage as not only the past but a living tradition. It also helped to test out the
knowledge and techniques learnt in the first year to real business problems to enrich one’s
understanding, knowledge and skills. It also helped to gain deeper understanding in specific
functional areas. It helped to explore career opportunities in the areas of interests. It helped to
find out the role of the organization in promoting unexplored and unidentified heritage across
India as well as world. It helped to learn about the organizational culture & work culture. It
helped in gaining the experience of Domestic as well as Inbound Tourism during the training.
The main purpose of this study is systematically gathering, recording & analyzing of information
& data related to the organizational functions & behavior of Sair E Dilli.
For completing the study, the necessary data were collected from Primary Sources were through
observation method. Apart from this, meetings & discussions were used for the study & the data
collected from Secondary Sources were books, brochures, pamphlets, posters, leaflets, websites,
etc. which are used for the purpose of study.
Data Collection Tools were Observation Method which included observation of daily operational
functions of the office, the employees. Other methods included were face-to-face discussions &
meetings with Board members.

Objective of OJT
On-the-job Training is part of a college curriculum that aims to train and orient students about
the work and their future career. It is a type of skill development where a worker learns how to
do the work through hands-on experience. On the Job Training is one method by which students
are exposed with different work situation designed to give students an opportunity to experience
and a chance to apply the theories and computation that they have learned from the school. It
also helps the students to acquire relevant knowledge and skills by performing in actual work
setting.
OJT is very important not only to teach students regarding their chosen career but also to show
students the reality about working. The students will be exposed to the actual work related to the
course that they are taking. It also allows those with no experience to work and to learn at the
same time. It helps in the building up of the trainee’s competence. Of course, when a student is
competent enough, he will be able to do things successfully. This training develops one’s
professionalism in dealing with people. After the training, the trainee will be able to handle
situations properly and he’ll be able to know how to socialize well with his colleagues. He will
also be able to work well with everyone and he’ll have a good teamwork.
OJT also enhances the critical thinking abilities and discipline of the student conducting his
training in a company. His ability to make sound decisions and evaluate pertinent factors will be
improved. Students will be trained not only academically but socially as well. The way they
work and communicate with others will not be a problem for them anymore. It also gives the
trainee the chance to immerse himself in his chosen field and experience and learn the skills
necessary to the industry he is interested in.
Working with experienced staff, one will be able to observe how the job is done properly. Aside
from work experience, On-the-Job Training allows the trainee to get acquainted with the real
professionals and to meet people having different positions in the company, either high or low.
The trainee will be able to know how to adjust to other people’s personalities and attitudes.

COMPANY PROFILE
SAIR E DILLI
Sair E Dilli is a heritage tour organization, founded by Mr. Syed Yusuf Shahab and established
in 2018. The motive behind the establishment of Sair E Dilli is for the awareness and activism
for the discarded and forgotten monuments and Sufism itself. Sair E Dilli is a platform of history,
heritage and culture. The organization continuously facilitates the tours and also tour nearby
cities of Delhi such as Panipat and Sirhind, which are in modern day totally discarded.
Sair E Dilli is owned by Mr. Syed Yusuf Shahab and Mr. Aman Kumar. Currently the
organization is dealing in three cities, i.e. – Delhi, Panipat and Sirhind. In Delhi, the organization
works on the social media events and private tour of different cities of Delhi. Where as in
Panipat and Sirhind, the organization conducts a one- or two-days tour, where it provides
transport, accommodation and meals etc. The bookings basically come from the social media
pages.
Our wonderful itineraries are unique and we develop all of our own walks personally and update
them regularly. Even in well-visited areas, we offer local experiences that you won’t find
anywhere else. Time and time again we have seen our guests relax, unwind and enjoy our walks.
Our aim is to give you the best walking experience ever.
Whether you are in city for work or for leisure, whether you are here for a day or many, our
walks are the best way to explore.
The corporate office of Sair E Dilli is located in Shaheen Bagh, Jamia Nagar, New Delhi. At
office Mr. Syed Yusuf Shahab and Mr. Aman Kumar operates the bookings online and as per
required the tour is lead by the staffs recruited in the organization. Our company is equipped
with the latest online computerized reservation systems with experts in back office support.

Places in work of Sair E Dilli
Delhi
Delhi region is roughly a triangular area formed by the Aravalli hills in the west and river
Yamuna running north-south in the east. Settlements in and around this region go back to the
Stone Age and subsequently others existed at different points in history. Delhi, thus offers an
exciting interaction between ancient, medieval and modern. Its monuments are the most evident
traces of this past, spanning a period of almost a thousand of years. They highlight Delhi’s
historic role as a capital city. Different dynasties built their capitals here. Some altered and
extended existing ones, others built new cities. It would be easy to argue that the cities of Delhi
were in reality less or more than seven. But the accepted number is seven (excluding New Delhi)
and these are cities whose remains are extant. Historians speak of the "Seven Cities of Delhi"
but, between 1100 A.D. and 1947 A.D., there have actually been eight of them:
• Qila Lal Kot/Qila Rai Pithora (The oldest city near the site of the Qutab Minar)
• Siri
• Tughlqabad
• Jahanpanah
• Firozobad
• Deenpanah (The city around Purana Qila)
• Shahjahanabad
• New Delhi
Their monumental ruins include forts and palaces, tombs, shrines for Saints and mystics, rest
houses, stepwells, memorials, bazaars and many are part of the lived environments of local

communities.
Panipat
Panipat, an eye witness of three grand battles in history. The major one is the first battle fought
between Babur and Ibrahim Lodi, which resulted in the establishment of Mughal Empire and of
course two other battles fought in 1556 AD and 1761 AD between Akbar/Hemu and
Marathas/Ahmad Shah Abdali respectively. It is the city, where history speaks about the destiny
of India, where exists numerous monuments which are very less known to the common people.
The place also has the culture of Sufi dargah which has a history of 750 years and is also the
birth place of famous Urdu shayar "Altaf Hussain Haali"

Sirhind (The Forgotten Heritage City)
Sirhind, a city around 5 hours distance from Delhi in Punjab. A small town famous for a
gurudwara "Fatehgarh Sahib". Sirhind was once a major city in fact, it was the second most
important city in Mughal Punjab after Lahore. A strategic centre between Delhi and Lahore. The
town has many historical facts monuments buried in the modern time.
The city had around 360 mosques, gardens, tombs, caravan sarais and wells. Sadly, only about
three dozen of these remain today, including the beautiful Aam Khas Bagh. A significant
specimen of Mughal architecture, the Aam Khas Bagh's origin has been traced to the reign of
Emperor Akbar, who first visited Sirhind in 1566.
Another monument that has survived the ravages of time is the Jahaz Haveli belonging to Todar

Mal (not the Todar Mal in Akbar’s court), a diwan in the court of the Mughal Governor of
Sirhind, Wazir Khan (1635-1710 CE). Made of bricks, the entire haveli was decorated with
fountains and pools, with a grand reception area to receive and entertain guests. Approx 8-10
massive unknown monuments in the agricultural field of sirhind.
A bloody incident happened, the murder of two sons of Guru Gobind Singh by the governor
"wazir khan". Not to forget it is also the land of Sufis, where resting a Sufi that abolished a
religion known as "Deen E Illahi". The secular relation between dargah and gurudwara.

Strength
Business strengths are its resources and capabilities that can be used as a basis for developing a
competitive-advantage. Examples of such strengths include:
• The company easily identifies its resources and has easy availability of products that can
be delivered to the guest.
• Over the years the company has gained the trust of the customers and is strong supply
chain in the market.
• The company has high skilled and innovative workforce and decision makers.
• The company has good ties with various overseas companies and tourism boards.
• The company has a modern approach towards the use sustainable marketing techniques.

Weakness
The absence of certain strengths may be viewed as a weakness. For example, each of the
following may be considered weaknesses:
• In the market, the company faces a lot of competitors with more advanced technology
and workforce.
• The company doesn’t have much roots in the particular sites other than Delhi, Panipat &
Sirhind.
• Due to presence of more skilled & innovative leaders in the category, there are less
chances of the company to take on the lead in the near future.
Opportunities
The external environmental analysis may reveal certain new opportunities for profit and growth.
Some examples of such opportunities include:
• There is a recent increase in the certain sector of the company.
• Government strategies including GST favour the further plans for the expansion of the
business.
• Due to the increasing online or Digital business Sair E Dilli, can attain more work with
the development of online portal where travel agents can book their walk online.
• Growth in Heritage sector in India will change the demand supply.
Threats
Changes in the external environmental also may present threats to the firm. Some examples of
such threats include:
• More and more start-ups can be seen these days, which makes the future of the company
unstable.
• High duties and taxes by the government is one of the major threats for the growth.

My role in the organization
As Management trainee – Tour Leader, I was provided practical training for Tourism and
Hospitality – Tour Leader for the initial period of one month. After getting the thorough
knowledge of products and functioning of company, I was assigned to do Leading the Tour of
Delhi, Panipat and Sirhind.
➢ I was giving a brief talk before the walk to make sure everyone is prepared.
➢ I was making sure paperwork like registration forms and registers are completed.
➢ I Was leading and managing walks, usually jointly with my other walk leaders.
➢ I was making sure walks are welcoming, friendly, enjoyable and safe, following our best
practice guidelines and the requirements of guest’s scheme.
➢ I was trouble shooting and dealing with problems on walks, with the support of our other
team coordinator.
➢ I was providing information about other walks offered by our organization and basic
information about how to keep active.
➢ I was doing documentation of the walk being organized like photographs, videos, live
online feed, etc.
➢ Confirm times for every individual guest and ensure/helped to reach meeting points.
➢ I was to ensure the tour is well organized and run to a timetable that allows all the sights
on the itinerary to be visited
➢ I was to do book or confirm all meals and accommodation required by the company
➢ I was to deal with a wide variety of people and situations diplomatically and
professionally as the tour leader.
My Learnings
➢ Punctuality
o Every employee has to be punctual and adhere to the office timings and during
walk.
➢ Positive Attitude Towards Work

o No matter how hard the task at hand would be, one should maintain a positive
attitude as it would help in finishing the work in efficient manner.
➢ Confidence
o Through this OJT, I became confident in dealing with the clients.
➢ Team work
o I learned how to work in a team, the amount coordination and cooperation that
goes into working in a team.
➢ Planning
o I got to learn the importance of planning as I had to planned every walk visit and
in time report to the team members.
➢ To be familiar with the route in detail, the weather conditions and any particular aspects
of the chosen environment.
➢ To prepare oneself by judging the physical fitness of the party, the schedule and by
acquiring knowledge of the terrain to be crossed.
➢ To be learn that how to provide oneself with the right equipment to ensure protection and
safety for the party.
➢ To learn about how to act in an appropriate way that conserves effort, by remaining
aware of possible risks and by respecting the surroundings.
➢ To adapt oneself to evolving conditions, the abilities of the party, changes of route and
knowing when to turn back if conditions deteriorate.
➢ Learn about technical skills, social skills and respect for the environment and the cultural
heritage
➢ Had a chance to meet new people at every walk.
➢ An interesting opportunity to explore and learn about Delhi, Panipat & Sirhind.
➢ To learn about how to always be polite and friendly towards clients.
➢ To learn about sharing my knowledge in a professional and informative manner.
➢ Develop my knowledge of cities, sights and countries.
➢ I was learning basic language skills of the cities where I was visiting.

Suggestions
➢ Sair E Dilli is a company that works towards the overall development of an individual but
there are still certain recommendations that I believe should work upon.
➢ As a fresher going into the Industry, I felt that a proper training or basic idea of the work
should be given, especially of the Story Telling.
➢ If the employee is doing overtime, then additional payment should be given by the
organisation.
➢ Infrastructure should be good and should be expand by the company.
➢ There should be more employees in the organisation for the expert of the destinations so
that every employee should focus on the same.
➢ There should be proper lunch timings so the employees can make the work arrangements
accordingly.
➢ Create a checklist to provide a step-by-step guide to organizing and executing a special
event.
➢ Great publicity and marketing are the key to a successful event. There are many different
methods use to get the word out about program. Consider supplementing paid advertising
with inexpensive fliers, handouts, email messages and word-of-mouth.
Conclusion
A trainee should take the OJT seriously as it can be a powerful tool for a person in preparing for
the next chapter of life as a professional. It can possibly be a source of recommendation when we
take that big lift from being students to career professionals someday.
Doing Tour Leader gives you an opportunity to meet different people in travel and tour domain
which enables you to interact them to get thorough knowledge of the travel trade industry.
In Sair E Dilli I got the chance to learn the Operations process too. I realized the Operations is a
very important function of all types of travel agencies. A travel agency consistently makes
linkage with the accommodation sector, transport sector and other entertainment organizations to
reserve rooms, and seats in the cultural programmes and transportation.

Heritage Tourism allows a company to break through the advertising clutter and target an
audience by enhancing or creating an image through an association to a particular event. Brand
awareness reinforces the product or services and drives sales.
Heritage Tourism also offers companies the flexibility to reach specific Historic, geographic and
demographic audiences. it is a benefit that allows depth of exposure, as opposed to the breadth of
exposure.
Sari E Dili is a new brand and will have to work on its marketing to gain more and more market
share.
