A. OBJECTIVE: To observe the structure of a plant cell.
B. MATERIALS: onion skin, iodine, microscope, slide, cover slip.
C. PROCEDURE:
1. Remove a small piece of the inner surface of an onion
skin.
2. Place the piece of onion skin on a slide.
3. Cover the piece of skin with a drop of iodine.
4. Place a cover slip over the onion skin.
5. Observe under low power; change to high power and
observe the onion skin.
6. Draw the cells of the onion skin under low power and
high power.
7. Label the parts of one cell.
