2. INTRODUCTION WHAT IS AN AIRLINE RESERVATION SYSTEM Airline reservation systems (ARS) are  systems that allow an airline to sell their inventory (seats) . It contains information on schedules and fares and contains a database of reservations (or passenger name records) and of tickets issued (if applicable). An Airline Reservation system is very important because it has the strong ability to reduce errors that might have occurred when using a manual system of reservation and helps speed up the boarding process. Overland Airways has an existing Airline Reservation System, but this paper analyzed the problems of the existing system.

3. STATEMENT OF PROBLEMS The problems are: inability of passengers to select their preferred seat(s) from the reservation system, No option of passengers printing their boarding pass from the existing system, non-notification of passengers of flight cancellation or delays and passengers don‘t have access to aircraft maintenance report to ease the fears associated with air travel and its disasters

4. AIM AND OBJECTIVES The Aim of this project is to design and implementation of an Airline Ticket Reservation management system. The Objectives of this system are: To design an automated Airline Ticket Reservation system. To design the system architectural diagram To design an Airline Reservation system framework.

5. MATERIALS AND METHODS MATERIALS Method used to gather data are: Review of related document and interview where Abuja airport staff were closely interviewed METHODS OF ACHIEVING THE OBJECTIVES The application should run on all Operating System. Since the application needs a database to store all the customer details, airline, motel and package information, MYSQL server would be used. Visual Studio code would be used for writing all the code for this application. The programming language used for the coding are: HTML, JAVASCRIPT, CSS, PHP. It runs on XAMP SYSTEM MODELS Several system development methodologies are suitable for this project but Agile model was picked because Well executed Agile software development methodology helps teams significantly improve the quality of their software at each release. Not only that, it allows teams to adapt to change quickly.
