1. OPERATING THEATRE ZONES, LEVEL OF RESTRICTIONS AND COLOR CODING GROUP Y

2. THEATRE ZONES Operating theater design must prevent cross-traffic of staff and supplies from the decontaminated/soiled areas to sterile/cleans areas. There are four zones of operating theatre which ar e: Protective zone Clean zone Sterile zone and ; Disposable zone

3. ZONES OF OPERATING THEATRE Protective zone; is outer zone also called general zone is zone which surrounds clean zone and forms a protective area between clean zone of OR and the rest of hospital. It includes dressing room, reception, and waiting areas. Clean zone; it surround the sterile area and connects it to the protective area. Only staff wearing appropriate surgical wear should enter the clean area. It includes store areas, recovery room or staff rooms.

4. ZONES CONT Sterile zone; in this zone, the highest level of aseptic condition needs to be maintained. It includes operating room, induction room, scrubbing Disposal zone this include the decontamination room and disposal corridors. Operating debris is removed via the disposal zone.

5. LEVEL OF RESTRICTION Limits traffic in and out of operating room. This reduce the risk of transmitting infections during surgical procedures. There three level of restriction within the operating room Unrestricted Semi restricted Restricted

6. UNRESTRICTED Street clothes are allowed. This include Lounge, locker rooms Front desk External hallways before red line

7. SEMI-RESTRICTED P eripheral supports areas of the OR. Include ; Hallways leading to the OR suites. Storage areas for clean and sterile supplies Work areas for processing instruments. Scrub sinks Located behind red line

8. RESTRICTED AREA High level of restriction. Includes; OR suites Procedure rooms Sterile core. OR Attire must include; Scrub Hat Booties Mask Eye protection
