PAKISTAN MUSIC The Music of Pakistan developed through influences , receives from various parts of South Asia as well as Central Asia Pakistan is known for unique vocals Pakistan’s classical music has two main principles, sur (musical notes) and lai (rhythm).

VOCAL FORM GHAZAL Traditional expressions of love, separation, and loneliness Tells about both the pain of loss of the lover and beauty of love despite of that pain Its structural requirements are more strict than those of most poetic forms traditionally written in English

Is considered by many to be one of the principle of poetic forms in the Persian civilization Can be sung by both men and women

2. QAWWALI the devotional music of the Chishti Order a vibrant musical tradition that stretches back more than 700 years Originally performed mainly at Sufi shrines throughout the subcontinent and gained mainstream popularity

INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC PUNJABI MUSIC- Strengthens the importance of musical instruments in Pakistan PUNJAB is region in South Asia, which is divided into West Punjab , Pakistan and East Punjab , India

RUBAB is a short- necked plucked lute originated in Afghanistan and West Pakistan. it has three strings tuned in fourths, three drone strings, and eleven to twelve resonance strings

DAFLI this is also known as daf , daffler or tambourine. this is a wooden ring instrument with double rows of bells. this is a must for wedding celebrations as accompaniment to the dholak .

TABLA this is a two drum instrument originated in India. this is considered as the most important accompaniment in classical music

DHOLAK this is a two headed hand drum from South Asia. this is a pitched instrument used during weddings.
