PAGE 19 PAGE 18 LAURICE GUILLEN Laurice Guillen is an actress and director, known for Aryana (2012). Award-winning actress and director, Laurice Guillen has finally agreed to direct her first drama series, Akin pa rin ang Bukas . Apart from her body of work in filmmaking. Guillen began her first major work as a director with Kasal in 1979 with Hilda Koronel and Christopher de Leon. Then with Kung Ako’y liwan Mo with Nora Aunor in 1980. It was in 1981 when she made Salome for Bancom Audio-Vision with Gina Alajar in the lead. 3. ANIMATION Animation is an art form in which a world of dynamic image and sound may be synthesized completely out of nothing but a thought. It is an art form which can come from anywhere and which can go to anywhere from a large production team working in a highly specialized studio or a lone individual working out of a bedroom, to an Imax Cinema screen or a mobile phone screen.

It aims to create an identity for the Philippines within the animation industry. It has the intention of making the Philippines as one of the preferred countries that provides animation services. It expresses high regard for locally produced animation with original content. It aims to reinvent and present the Philippines as a “ center of excellence for animation and content creation services” not only to the Asian clientele but also to countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Japan.

PAGE 23 PAGE 22 PHILIPPINE ANIMATION STUDIO, INC. Philippine Animation Studio, Inc. (PASI) was founded in 1991 and is best known as a producer of traditional animation and Flash animation. It is one of the oldest studios to specialize in animation. PASI has worked on several well-known animated series such as: X-Men B Bob and Margaret Captain Flamingo Biker Mice from Mars (1994 original and 2006 revival) Adventures from the Book of Virtues The Adventures of T-Rex (with Madhouse, Hong Ying and Mook DLE) Animaniacs (One short, “Acquaintances”) BattleTech (Animated Adaptation; 2D animation) 4. PRINT MEDIA Print and media are lightweight, portable, disposable publications and circulated as physical copies in forms we call books, newspapers, magazines, and newsletters. They hold informative and entertaining content that is of general or special interest. They are published either once or daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly, bimonthly, or quarterly.

Advertisement is a paid announcement, as of goods for sale, in newspapers or magazines, on radio or television, and others. Ads appear on television, as well as radio, newspapers, magazines, and as billboards in streets or cities. COMIC BOOKS A comic book is a publication that consists of comic’s art in the form of sequential juxtaposed panels that represent individual scenes. Panels are often accompanied by brief descriptive prose and written narrative, usually dialog contained in word balloons emblematic of the comics’ art form. Comics in the Philippines are widespread and popular throughout the country from the 1920s though its mainstream appeal has subsided somewhat with the advent of other mass-media forms such as telenovelas.

DIGITAL MEDIA Digital media are any media that are encoded in a machine-readable format. Digital media can be created, viewed, distributed, modified, and preserved on computers. Computer programs and software; digital imagery, digital video; webpages and websites, including social media; data and databases; digital audio such as mp3s; and e-books are examples of digital media.

The term “web design” is normally used to describe the design process relating to the front-end (client side) design of a website including writing mark up. Web design partially overlaps web engineering in the broader scope of web development. Web designers are expected to have an awareness of usability. Nowadays, gaming is one of the most popular activities of the young and even the old generation.
