Roots "The Plant’s Anchor" The roots are found underground and help hold the plant in place. They also absorb water and nutrients from the soil to keep the plant healthy. Some plants, like carrots and sweet potatoes, store food in their roots!
STEM "The Plant’s Support and Transport System" The stem is like a highway inside the plant. It carries water and nutrients from the roots to the leaves and flowers. It also helps the plant stand upright. Trees have thick, strong stems trunks, while smaller plants have softer stems.
Leaves "The Plant’s Kitchen" Leaves are where the plant makes its own food through a process called photosynthesis. They use sunlight, carbon dioxide, and water to produce energy. That’s why leaves are usually green – they have chlorophyll, which helps in photosynthesis!
Flowers The Plant’s Reproduction Center Flowers are not just for decoration! They help plants reproduce by attracting bees and butterflies, which help in pollination. This process allows plants to create seeds and grow new plants.
Fruits and Seeds Plant’s Future After pollination, flowers turn into fruits, which protect the seeds inside. Seeds are like baby plants – when planted, they grow into new plants! Some seeds are inside fruits, like apples and mangoes, while others, like beans, grow on their own.
Recap! Roots – Absorb water and nutrients Stem – Supports the plant and transports food/water Leaves – Make food through photosynthesis Flowers – Help in pollination and reproduction Fruits/Seeds – Protect and spread new plants
