6TH GRADE Are you Physically Fit? Fit people are considered physically fit if they can perform their daily work efficiently and effectively with alertness and vigor.
6TH GRADE PHYSICAL FITNESS It is the optimum level of health where healthy individuals can perform daily activities free from any form of fatigue. Physically fit individuals have the capacity to maintain and do daily tasks without experiencing stress, making it easier to meet daily demands. Physical fitness helps individuals become free from any form of high-risk health conditions. Physical fitness also improves not only your physical health but also your mental ability to cope with uncertain events or occurences.
6TH GRADE What is the difference between HRF and SRF Components? HRF refers to the ability to perform daily physical tasks associated with the disease prevention and functional health. SRF is the ability of the human body to perform physical tasks efficiently for a specific sport.
Health-Related Fitness Components MUSCULAR STRENGTH – is the amount of force that a muscle can apply in a given contraction. MUSCULAR ENDURANCE – is the ability of the muscles to keep working over a period of time. FLEXIBILITY – the ability of the joints to move through the full range of motion.
Health-Related Fitness Components CARDIOVASCULAR ENDURANCE – the ability of your heart, blood vessels, lungs, and blood to deliver oxygen and nutrients to all of your body’s cells while you are being physically active. BODY COMPOSITION – refers to the ratio of lean body tissue (muscle & bone) to body-fat tissue.
Skill-Related Fitness Components AGILITY – is the ability to change the position of your body BALANCE – to maintain the equilibrium. POWER – is the ability to perform with strength in a maximum level. SPEED - is the ability to cover a distance in a shortest period of time.
Skill-Related Fitness Components COORDINATION – is the integration of eye, hand, and foot movement. REACTION TIME – is the amount of time it takes to start a movement once your senses signal the need to move.
6TH GRADE What is Fitness Assessment? It is a series of measurements and tests that will help identify the status of one’s physical fitness. There are several standard tests in a fitness assessment. The tests include evaluating body mass index , resting heart rate, and health-related tests and skill-related tests like body composition, lung capacity, flexibility, speed, balance, agility, power, strength, and coordination.
